Time to shop for wheels

Well I busted the shit out of a wheel today. Its got a nice crack in in the back side of the lip and I am not sure how much longer it will hold.

I was really wanting to wait on a set of evo 8 enkeis to become available, or have the cash to afford some RPF1s and a set of Proxes from tire-rack, but alas bad fortune had to rain on my parade.

Here is what I am looking at on tire-rack. They look really similar to the evo 8 wheels.

Those things are pretty heavy, 23.5 lbs for a 17"x7.5" is a lot. My rotas are the same dimensions and they weigh in at 16.9 lbs.

They look almost identical to the evo 6 spoke wheels...

And unless you can do >400 on them and have them in the mail by friday I can't really do anything on em.

Yeah I do thanks. Pretty stressed out about the fact I am not sure how long this wheel is gonna last so I need to buy some NOW, and there none on my local cl that fit.

I had a set of Sport Edition CD 16x7.5's on my Honda. Actually got a lot of complements on them. Ran a 205/45 series tire and never bent or cracked a rim. For the price they are hard to beat. I'd say go for it. Unless you are racing and trying to do burnouts and shit, the extra unsprung weight won't matter too much.

No I just need a set of wheels close to 400$. Those where the only ones I've so far I like for under 108$ a wheel.

I really want some damn rpf1s but they are out of my price range unless someone buys this damn mustang body.

You can buy a set of used Rota's with decent tires for around $400-$500

i had those EXACT wheels from the 1st post, paid 175 bucks for em with 4 new snow tires. I couldnt sell them for more than $75 bucks after taking off the tires.

Unless you have the cash for "real" wheels, it's normally a good idea to buy used.

Just search on Craigslist for a cheap set and keep saving/looking for better rims.

Cheap 17's always pop up on my local one for $150 with tires that will last another couple months.

agreed, I found my evo8 for 310 for all 4 with tires, the kid was really trying get money for his new set. It can be done, just be a thrifty shopper and search for the best deals. Plus they are a quality, you know they will hold up and not crack or bend like cheap light rims.

IIRC they are 20.5 lbs

Pretty light and are 17x8 with a 38 off set so they will definitely fit on our cars

I know the money isn't there, and you said you only want to spend 400, but are the RFP1 from enkei amazing. 15.5 lbs for 17x8, everyone loves reducing unsprung weight

Unfortunately there isn't anything on craigslist to fit my car. I did however find myself a set of 10 spoke gsx 17s on a junkyard.

There is someone on my local craigslist that has 16" 99 10th anniversary oz wheels for $100. He'll probably ship them for another $75 or if you want the link.

Maybe im getting old but like whats going on with boost i dont see why i would waste the money on aftermaket wheels when they can get damaged so easly and then be discontinued. At least with a factory wheel thier more mass produced. I like my gs wheels but i like the 17 inch stance better.
