I'm not looking for race suspension here but I'd like to be able to lower the car around 1.5-1.7 inches and still maintain or improve handling/ride quality. Which of the two above would you guys recommend?

Thanks for coming out guys. I guess no one has either of the two setups.

I had Illuminas/Eibach - it sucks. Good as stock at best.

First of all, you will not maintain or improve improve handling or ride quality by lowering your car more than 1.5" .

That being said, I would recommend Tokico Illuminas, as they are arguably the best shock for street use for the 2G DSM.

I personally prefer Eibach Pro Kit spring for street use, but I'm sure the Tokico springs would be fine as well. Whatever you do, do not drop it below 1.5 if you plan on "maintaining or improving handling or ride quality"

Thanks for the help guys. I'll probably go with the tokico's for now since they are the cheaper route. Oh RX3, those SSR's look great. I've never seen those on a DSM.

Hey I just put on tein s tech springs and kyb agx struts. I think that the ride was a dramatic improvement. RRE was wrong about the housing being 1 inch longer than stock. The ones I got were 3/4 inch shorter. I did read that kyb did fix there problems with new parts. The drop was only 1.3 and really gave it an agressive appearance. Check into it. :thumb:

I doubt that RRE was wrong. The N/T suspension is different from the turbo FWD and AWD suspensions. I think RRE was referring to the latter two.

Hey my fwd eclipse has suspension as any fwd. kyb used to be a inch longer and they fixed that problem with the new strut. They werent wrong a while ago, but they are now. It does not matter wether you got a turbo or not, its just fwd or awd.

nope, FWD suspensions are all the same up front, regardless if it's AWD or FWD. the old AGX's were in fact 1" longer than stock. I heard somewhere that they were actually designed for the JDM Galant, and just happened to fit on 2G's

So you are comparing what RRE said a long time ago with the parts that you, yourself, say are new and fix the problem. What do you want them (or anyone else who has said in the past that AGXs have long bodies) to do? Go and find every thread and correct it? GMFB.

It still says that on there web site. What is your issue. I read way to many conflicting thing on the kybs. It took me a long time to find which strut i wanted to go with. I read here about the new struts, so i went a did some research. The new one have different part numbers. And no i just want share the fact that now they are shorter, and problem fixed. I not talking trash about rre at all. Just telling someone that 2 weeks ago i put the on my car and that they are fine, and the ride is great!
