My car is making a ticking sound, I added oil and that didnt seem to do anything, it just started doing it when I was driving in the park, when I give it gas it gets louder and faster. Anyone know what could be the problem? The car is a 1995 Eclipse GS with 150,000 miles on it, new tranny and oil pan was just installed under 4000 miles ago, any help would be good

Thanks Ben :dsm:

Sounds like it could be lifter tick, most DSM have this problem. Mine drive me crazy. You could buy new lifters or i believe on the vfaq they show you how to bore them out alittle more. Stock 2g lifters have very small oil holes.

yea but I have a NT, im not worried tho, I put it in the lift at school and under light I can see it seems a heat sheild was just loose under the engine
