ticking noise

Ok, so my car has had this problem for a while now. About 5 months ago it spun a rod bearing and I got the crank polished and put a new rod and bearings in. It seemed fine after that. Now about a month ago I noticed that it would tick. It wouldnt tick when I was accelerating, but when I would be at a steady speed at around 3000 rpms. Also when idleing or coming to a stop, the engine felt really rough. You could just hear a rough idle. It also shuts of sometimes when coming to a stop. I fugured it was the lifters, so today i replaced the lifters with 3g ones. It seemed to help a little I think. I dont think its a bearing because it would tick at idle when I had it before, and it doesnt now. I had the stock boost guage converted to read knock, and I dont get any while accelerating, But i start to get alot when just staying at say like 3000 rpm. I know my stock exhaust mani has some small cracks, could that be causing it? What else could it be? I really need help

Try taking a look at your accessories. I know that my car ticks sometimes the way that you described and it appears to either be my power steering pump or the belt.

As for the stalling have you tried a boost leak test? You have a few posts under your belt so I would imagine that if you haven't you've at least thought about it.

I was considering raising the specter of crankwalk but it appears you have an auto so I wouldn't worry very much about that.

Yea, I have an auto, but its a used motor, not sure if its from an auto or manual. But how long would it take new lifters to fill up?I only drove it 5-10 min. Is that enough?

Also, if it was rod knock, would it be ticking just idleing?

It Could be your lifters.
