Ticking noise seems to be from fuel injectors or intake

I did some searching and saw a few posts about the problem i have but they never answerd the question.
but i finally got my eclipse started and no matter what i do it spikes at around 20 psi when
i put about half throttle and theres a air leak somewhere by the intake mani by the cams somewhere havnt found it yet and a ticking sound coming from somewhere by the cas
im about to spray some soupy water on the intake and look for the air leak but could this cause the high spike even if i have the controler set at 10?

I would wonder if your wastegate arm has something obstructing its path or a poor vacuum referance from your intake/boost controller.

Keep in mind soapy water will not do you any good without pressurising the intake.

Check around your injectors if its not them its the intake manifold mounting point, if your sure its in that area.

Hmm sounds like good advice ill try hooking it up straight to it,
when i saw that it was over boosting that was the first thing i thought of is the wastegate not doing
what its supposed to, and im sure the noise is coming from somewhere by the top of the intake mounting area around the fuel injectors and fuel rail

I just replaced the rubber grommets for the fuel injectors and got ride of the air leak,
got it timed great and tightened the cas bolts down and thought this would get rid of the clicking noise but it didn't, the noise seems to be coming from the cas or from the thermostat housing and increases and decreases when i turn the cas.
but everything else is running great.

are you sure you arent confusing the clicking noise with your lifters>>?? the lifters in dsms are known for loud clicking

Not sure i put my ear to the valve cover and i can hear the lifters ticking but this noise is pretty loud and only coming from the side of the valve cover where the cas is, at first i thought it was the cas prog banging around in the intake cam shaft

Open the oil cap, when the car is running. If the ticking is louder from the oil cap opening, then valve tap (sometimes called lifter tick) is your likely culprit.

This sometimes causes phatom knock. The best solution is to replace them with 3g lifters. The cheapest one is to clean your stock ones. Eithe way, you don't need to remove the head to do this. And it is fairly easy.

The ones that are in there are pretty new, and i squeezed the oil out of them before installing,
but if you say it can cause i phatom kncok then that could be it, and ive read alot of peoples posts about this knock and there saying its in the same place as well

Just read a thread saying that pull the spark plugs out one at a time
while someone is reving the motor a bit and see if the noise goes away when you pull out
a certain plug then its a spun bearing wich i hope its not but i would prefer to make sure its not
the worst case senario

Okay went out and started up the car and it still boosts at 20 when i have it set at 10,
i tried taking off the oil cap when it was running and i can hear the lifters ticking but the noise by the cas was still there and not louder, when i took the spark plug wire off of the number 4 cylinder the noise went away and of course the engine was lopping LOL but the noise was gone, any ideas

after alot of reading and pulling the oil pan off i think i spun a rod or what ever
there was little shavings of metal in the pan i took off the bottom parts of the rods and the number 3 looked scoard but didnt feel to bad and this peice of metal came from around the top of it around the crank bearing i belice it was around it but really thin and slid with the crank thought it was supposed to be there but none of the others did this

Alright another update the noise does go away when i pull the number 4 wire but when i tried the
screwdriver test on the valve cover i herd the lifters ticking but didnt here the noise
i went under the car and tried in all over the oil pan and nothing,
i looked around and it seems like the noise is either coming from around the starter or from somewhere on the intake mani could there just be something loose on one of these banging around
its not really loud but it seems louder then lifter ticking ima look tomorrow and check if a lifter collapsed or if one of the rollers is shot
