I've noticed alot of posts saying they are getting a ticking noise since winter started. I haven't been capable of finding an exact answer for my problem yet so ill explain. Ever since its been getting colder when i first start my car there is a fast ticking noise that is barley noticeable at idle but at first take off in the cold morning it is a very loud pronouncable ticking that does not change in speed wither i accelerate or decelerate i bought the car with 75,000 miles on it and have brought it up to 78,000 miles and not yet changed the timing belt due to lack of funds or a knowledgable mechanic, could it have to do with the timing belt or a cracked manifold is what i suspect it to be the ticking goes away immediately after it warms up.

If it goes away after warm-up it's probably lifter tick. A cracked manifold (comon on 1G's) can make a similar noise. At least, as my manifold started to crack, I just thought my ticking was getting louder.

*edit* G3ne beat me to it. :coy:
