ticking coming from the motor

i just put my 3 inch turbo o2 housing back exhaust on, and then right after they finished. they started the car for exhaust leaks and nothing. the motor was ticking when you rev it get louder and faster. and it wasnt doing this before. im thinking it is a broken lifter is there away to check and found out for sure what it is, because i have been reading. and one person said there car was very low on oil and it quit when they changed the oil. and another was the hydrallic tension and he changed it and it quit . please help before i spend alot of money

If you know its lifters(whish most likly it is) just put 3g/revised lifters in. All the 2g have horrable lifters.
