Whenever I'm accelerating, rpms are usually passed 2500, there's a rapid ticking noise coming from the motor. And then when I'm just cruising along at around 40 or a little more, I can hear it, but once I let off the gas, it's no long there. It sounds almost like lifter tick, but don't the lifters usually only tick when you first start the car for a couple seconds? Does anyone have any idea as to what this may be?

lifter tick can occur anytime, thats your problem right there.get some lifter... lube... stuff.... i dont know the name of it.

Alright, thanks, I'll check it out.

I have a similar problem actually bro...I am hoping its not a SERIOUS problem.

I am actually having it looked at tomorrow so I will let you know what the mechanic tells me tomorrow.

Alright thanks man. If you're gonna go into detail just PM me, if not just post it in here.

you my friend

have lifter tick...as do i. and about 2305820385 other members. Its annoying, get new ones, or clean them out i guess. Or get some lifter lube shit from wal mart, comes in a yellow bottle, its like 2 bux. Shuts them up for about 1 day :(

I don't want to freak you out or any thing but something simalar was the first sign of a rod bearing eating itself on my car. If the lifter fixes don't help just keep an ear on it. If you notice it starting to get worse it might be time to worry.

Well nothing too exciting from the mechanic I had look at it...he just said "these motors are known for this, just keep an eye on it and if you notice it getting worse then bring it back cuz you might need a new motor."

So good news LoL Hopefully it isnt that on either one of our cars.
