I can't find any documentation on how to swap out a Tial BOV spring. Tial's site keeps crashing my browser when I try to open their PDF diagrams. Anyone have a link to something? Or can you just explain the process? I've got a track event this next weekend and I don't want to screw something up that I can't get parts for before then.

My brother just got a Tial BOV so I took it apart to make sure that they sent the 7lb spring. It's extremely easy. Just take off the bolts holding it together and take the spring out. There's very few pieces inside so it's easy to put everything back together. Put the new spring in and put the covers together. Then what I did was put the BOV on the floor and put my knee over the top of the BOV to keep the spring compressed while I put the bolts back through.

Edit: Just remembered I took pictures

Yes, I know this thread is old. I just went on Tial's website and saw this video of how to properly assemble a wastegate. The process is very similar for their bov.

Video shows proper wastegate assembly: first, place the small spring in it's place with the painted side down. Now place the large spring, make sure the springs are not touching. Next put the top on and insert the six actuator bolts and press the top down with your palm (high pressure springs may require the aid of a press). Get three actuator bolts threaded in but make sure you have enough room for a small allen wrench to fit in. Take a small allen wrench and tuck in/press down the diapragm to make sure it doesn't get pinched/unseat itself. once that is complete, use a press to hold the top down and tighten the actualtor bolts. Awesome... just what I needed. Just wanted to say thanks. I went to their website and the BOV assembly document link is broken. I assumed it would be similar to the wastegate diagram though (since they're similar in function)

I'll be sure to snap some pictures of the Q while its dissected, maybe it'll help someone else in the future.

Since mine is opening at idle with the 7psi spring, I'm guessing a stiffer spring is what I need. I have a 10psi spring on hand that I am installing, in case anyone was curious.

If you happen to have some machine screws around that are pretty long it's much easier to use them to get the cover down and then install the short screws. That is how I do it. On the WG 2 1 bar springs are very very hard to compress by hand or even when you are standing on it tring to line up the screws.

Exactly, that is how I pinched the diaphragm on mine and beacause of that it developed a little crack, so had to replace it. I use vise with rubber boots on the ends and after I put the short bolts on, I still check for the diaphragm, before I tighten them.

my bov had the white 8lb spring it in which was open at idle and would flutter like crazy before and while hitting boost and sometimes wouldnt even let me go past 5psi. i am running -21inHG of vaccum so im gonna order the 10lb spring and see how it goes from there
