Tial 44 as BOV?

After reading about the Dodge Garage mod on a 1G BOV I have been toying with the idea of using a Tial44 as a BOV. The vent port on a tial can be used as the Boost/Vacume port for BOV operation couldnt it? I mean If you attach the line to the top instead of the side It will hold the W/G shut rather than opening it. (I know Because I inadvertantly boosted to 36 PSI doing this on my W/G) Thought and opinions on this?

I'm sure if you were really determined you could modify it to work but I doubt that would be cost effective.

There are some 1500+hp race cars which use wastegates as "spool up" valves so it definitely can be done...how does it work? I have no idea how.

One example was Justin Humphrey's 7 sec Lexus GS300.

I don't think the OP's car is making 1500 hp. IMO it's a waste of money and a perfectly good waste gate.

Its not used as a bov. As olmytsi said, its a "spool up" valve". What it does is stays open and it allows the turbo to spin as fast as it can and when the CO2 goes it closes the wastegate and all the boost comes in all at once and allows you to leave hard. You have to have a CO2 system to open and close the wastegate. Its only intended for track only cars.

Im not wasting anymony by asking a question. I figured it wouldnt work too well but I also figured there wasnt any harm in asking for the opinions of thoes that know more than me.

Never hurts to ask. And it actually works really well on drag cars to help spool up. But it not really needed unless you have a big turbo race car.

The Tial 50mm is not only bigger and cheaper, it's designed to be a BOV : D
