I am having the same issue as this person. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/drivetrain-tech/295588-transmission-input-shaft-sleeve-warped.html.
I need to know how to replace this throwout bearing, 97 Talon AWD.

This is as far as it slides before the bearing catches the lip on the end of the sleeve.
There is two notches on either end of the lip which makes me believe a special tool is needed to remove the sleeve so the bearing can slide off the other side.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From what I read on the other forum, they keep saying to file or grind down the sleeve. Most transmission TOB's are really similar, if not exactly the same in some cases. Since your clutch/pressure plate/flywheel sit in there so that the TOB pushes them up, I really don't see how there would be any need to flare the end of that shaft out... other than being used daily...... So read the other forum you quoted for pointers, but as far as I'm concerned the flaring is damage and/or use... not factory

My 2 cents...

Thank you for the reply. I came back to say I pulled it pretty easy.
