Hello Everyone. I am fairly new to the 2G and am building a road race car for the 24 Hours of LeMons. It is a 1997 2.0L FWD. I do have major mechanic skills but being unfamiliar with the 2G I have an issue that I need some help on.

I have rebuilt the top end of the engine including two new intake valves, replaced most everything behind the timing belt cover, and am in the process of final assembly prior to putting it back in the body.

The previous owner, a young high school boy, had a new clutch and throwout bearing installed (OEM) because of shifting difficulties. (The problem was actually a badly frayed shift cable with only one strand holding it together). His mother refused to put any more money in the car and made him sell it at a big loss.

Upon reassembly it seems the new throwout bearing has an excessive amount of play on the input shaft sleeve. Is this typical or did the dealer provide the wrong throwout bearing?

Can anyone provide the correct ID of the throwout bearing?
