When I bought my car it had a new throwout bearing put in and me, being the idiot I am, completely forgot to break it in. Now when I push I the clutch in it makes this god awful screeching noise. I'm assuming the tob is ####ed. I just broke down and bought a new clutch kit because I'm sure the bearing is tearing up the press. plate. The noise also occurs when I start the car up with no clutch (I disconnected the Neutral safety switch so I can start the car without the clutch...) Anyways would a bad tob make a slight noise with no clutch pressed at start up? Thanks.

Yeah I know it should make zero noise... I doubt it was put on backwards because it was fine for about 150 miles... I'm wondering if it is even the TOB making the noise when I start her with out the clutch...

Very sure... It's a god awful noise only when the clutch pedal is depressed and when the car is cranked over after sitting for a few days... And I can control the noise with how much I push the clutch. I haven't seen much info on pilot bearings for DSM's... I can't even find a clutch kit that comes with a new pilot bearing. I doubt that's what it is but is it possible that the pilot bearing is bad???
