so when i start my car i hear a rattle in the trans and im pretty sure its the throw out bearing since it stops when i push in the clutch and when it warms up it goes away pretty good. so my question is how bad is this and if i dont change it what can happen? iv done so much work to this car and it runs solid so i dont feel like unbolting the trans to put another one in. thanks in advance

I said I am not sure becuase if you think about it, how can the temperature affect the bearing making noise? I cant think of why it would thus my comment.

Plus, if you are SO SURE then why even ask. u wanted options and opinions and u get them, then complain.....

Temp does effect the ToB, i'd imagine has to do with the thickness of the oil when cold and hot.

obviously you didnt read my thread 100% because it clearly states my question. and your answer wasnt relavent but thanks anyway.

This is such a common issue with the T350 transmission TOB. You normally have quite a bit of time before it fails. When you actually do replace the TOB, I would strongly suggest replacing a few other parts.

Clutch Fork Assembly: M04796665 (mitsubishi part $46.33) - 4796665 (dodge part $37.36)
TOB: 04670026AB (mitsubishi part $57.46) - 4670026AB (dodge part $38.37)

If the input shaft inner bearing is also worn out, then you will need to unbolt the bellhousing, remove the snapring retainer for the bearing and then press the bearing assembly out of the bellhousing, and install a new one by the same method; press in, install snapring, reinstall bellhousing with extreme care to not damage the output shaft inner bearing assembly as well as the shift rails and rail bushings in the bellhousing.

The inner input shaft bearing is: 05069049AA (mitsubishi part $87.12) - 5069049AA (dodge part $64.95)

As you can see, though the parts are identical, the dealer selling it has significantly different pricing. You can clearly see that your MOPAR dealer is the better choice in this circumstance.

wish i would of seen this sooner to reply. yeah im hoping it wont mess up anything else. it still makes the noise untill its warmed up. its an aftermarket tob too that came with my spec clutch. will a bad tob wear out all of those other parts? i have had my tranny spilt apart and gone through by a tranny shop just to make sure it was solid. but that was about 2 years ago. i only have about 7000 miles on it since then to now.

I replaced mine about 6 months ago and it still makes noise.

I have looked at both TOB and it seems the OEM one has rubber sleeves ( probably the reason why it doesn't make that annoying chatter). And then the aftermarket replacement is metal sleeved, hence the chattering. Also i am not sure if the OEM TOBs match or line up with aftermarket clutches.

PS: Mine also goes away once my car is warmed up too. And maybe sometimes at a stoplight it will start for a short amount of time.
