throttlebody help

i recently installed a gen1 tb on my car, which is a gen2.(duh) i followed the tech install and i am still having an issue. when i start my car it immediately revs up all the way to 7000 rpms, which is when i shut it off. my first thought was the tps sensor, so i took the tb back off, shut it as much as i could, but it still does it when i got it back on. any ideas and and sorry for no caps, i am holding my kid and typing with one hand.

Is the throttle plate or cable stuck open?

Did you adjust your throttle cable? It might be adjusted too tight and holding up the throttle plate.

its a little open but not wot or anything like that.

Check the cable first by pressing in the pedal all the way in with the car off to see if it's sticking anywhere. Do it with the TB elbow off to see if the butterfly valve is sticking internally. If that all checks out ok, move onto the sensors and the BISS. The IAC could be stuck open as well so get the voltage readings on that to verify that none of the coils are blown and that the motor is working. Best way to check the IAC after the coils pass is taking it off and hooking it up to a power source. The stepper motor will move the plunger in and out to cycle to zero. Make sure it still does all of that.
