Throttle body plate leaks

When looking at my throttle body (mainly the plate) with a light behind it, I can see a pretty good amount of light coming from everywhere but the top and bottom of the throttle plate. Is this normal?

Yea that is normal. Its not supposed to seal 100%.

Cleaning carbon regularly with a rag will keep everything moving freely and make sure it closes all the way. But like Jimmy said, its not a 100% seal.
