I've been searching a decent amount of time, but no threads were titled like this, and about a hour was spent going through all the clutter that comes up when searching in all posts, still with no answers found. I even read all the tech pages and still didn't find anything on this subject..

In the past I've used only Teflon tape for this and while it does and did work I'd rather not use it on this new turbo, for the 100% guarantee that it will keep any and all tape out of the turbo or oil system. What I did find to back this up was something posted by Defiant, about using Permatex High temp Teflon paste instead. But that was for the OFH side of the line, not for the feed port that's located on the turbo itself..

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/151970768-post4.html

So I'm looking for advice and want to have this here for others to easily find, on what is used and recommended for the 1/8 npt to -an fittings that are used on the turbo's oil feed port. I picked up some of that Permatex High temp Teflon paste for this but after looking at it, it's only rated for 400* and I would have to believe this location would get a good amount hotter then this.

So would this product be the wrong thing to use here? I've already bought some new tape to use instead, but if the paste is known to hold up I'd rather be overly anal about it and "leave the toilet tape in the bathroom"ROFL

if you put teflon tape on correctly there is zero chance of it getting into the turbo. If you just wrap the threads like a noob and leave crap hanging over the end of the fitting than yes.

The thread sealing compounds may or may not be able to resist the heat or oil itself depending on the brand and if you are getting good oil pressure it may not hold.

Use teflon and be smart. wrap the fitting starting about the second thread. pull the tape slightly tight as you wrap it. Do 3 or 4 wraps then cut the tape with a pair of scissors, DO NOT TEAR IT. Once you do this hold the fitting firmly in your hand with you free hand turn the teflon coated threads between your fingers to seat the tape into the threads. I have used this method on many turbo cars and high pressure air actuated micro solenoids and have never had anything get inside.

If you want ill make a quick video of this process tonight if you not getting the instructions

You may also add to that, while advocating the tape, the biggest mistake people make is wrapping it the wrong way, on a standard thread you want to wrap in counter clockwise direction, so it pulls to the fastener while being threaded instead of loosening and trying to bunch up.

Thanks guys, the responses do help but I'm honestly not really looking for a how-to, on using tape.

I would just like to see if there are guys here that are using or have used, thread paste, in this location, which can then say; It has, it will, or it will not, hold up to the heat that it will see here.

Or, even if someone knows the typical heat that the feed inlet fitting would see, that would be almost as great of a help.

Thanks, Justin! I was going to pm you this but I did not want to bother you. That is just what I was looking for and coming straight from you, that is really all that is needed here!

Resolved! :D
