That sums up about 95% of the people on DSMTuners. But if you do go through with the slaughter, atleast do the right thing and have it painted to the color of the car first, then install it. Don't install it like some lame ass ricer that makes me wanna shoot their car to put it out of its misery, that cruises around with a unpainted body kit. Body kits are horribly styled, but even the good nice ones for 2g's such as the VeilSide Kit and what not, get damaged and its just thousands of bucks down the drain, when you can get a lip and save your ass that trouble, and if it gets damaged, oh well, it was only 200 bucks or so. The price your gonna pay in the end to keep it looking right, you can own Mazda Protege Lips.

There are soo many better things you can do. Even if you own a NT. Suspension, Wheels goes a long way when it comes to DSM's. Stock Body is the best Body Kit :thumb:. Headlight, Tail Light Mods, Tint. That will get you a good looking DSM. If you want to make it fast. Not hard, you own a 1st gen, Swap out that motor with a Turbo motor with turbo setup and there you go! FWD Turbo DSM with NT Insurnace Prices.

Don't take this as I'm talking crap about you or your car. I'm not. Just think about it tho body Kit gets damaged easily. You gotta pay for paint matching. And then maintaining it. Since it is alot lower then stock body, your going to hit things with it and then all that money you spent, is gone.

Stock Body/Stock Wheels 1994 Eagle Talon TSI AWD (1gb just like your eclipse), 2" Drop, Wheels Painted black W/Red Lip, Red Calipers.

Its also your choice, so if you don't like the bad words about body kits, might as well just do it and be happy with your work.

its a v fiber drift kit my car already sits pretty high because of my rims and tires and my bumper on the front is scratched all over the bottom gouges and holes on top back bumper has crack in the middle and has some like heat waves and goes in a little on the left i was already thinking about a tent job and paint job but gotta find both cheap and good the kit comes with side skirts also

Fiberglass FTL, IMO.

Anyways, let us know how its looks and post up pics when you get done. Good luck.

i used to be into body kits, but trust me when i say that dsm's both 1g's and 2g's do not need body kits to look nice. You should try and work with your stock look like just find a nice set of wheels and lower your car a little. Those bumpers just look way too big to be sitting on a 1g IMO

Josh about sums it up in his post..Youre going to get alot of mixed opinions with the dsm croud..Most of the mombers on here do not like body, kits, wings, stickers, stupid shit that makes cars look gawdy...I also agrre that the 1gb talon body, is realy sexy, and that's what I would reccomend as well...Or just get a lip kit, simple and not too(hey come look at my car)..

Chris- There a re some things you can do to the stock gsx body to make it look more sexified..HOOD- http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-exterior-interior/220112-rolled-hood-vent-mod.html Front bumper(lip) http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-exterior-interior/168977-10-1g-dsm-lip.html Corner lenses- http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/art...r/124826-black-housing-clear-corners-1gb.html Headlights- http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-exterior-interior/87503-black-out-headlights.html Or you can black the tails too..

Or you can cut some of the front bumper like I did..Theres a pic from the front in my gallery..

JosI love the new avitar..I almost thought it was a different car till I seen your name...LOL

no kit please dont ruin your dsm.... i see that you already have a aluminum wing on the car... the stock wings on the 1gs look great... i used to love bodykits... but i think its a stage you go through, i am guessing your around the age of 16-17... so please do yourself a favor and just fix the probs you have with the stock bumpers and you will be way happier.. and if you are getting a kit to make your car lower it really wont help you will still have a huge wheel to fender gap.. just spend your money on a nice set of springs or coilovers and you will love the stance your car will give off compared to a body kit... i bought a 2g eclipse spyder with a body kit and i ripped that sucker off that car so quick and got a hold of nice eclipse bumpers...

Yea...........

Don't do it. That's the single gayest thing you could do aside from underglow. Just spend all that money on good suspension considering your car is 17 years old and will need that soon anyway.

My 97 GS I bought a while back had a urethane bomex kit on it... And it was screwed in by wood screws that were stripped on the heads... LOL... So I tried ripping it off, damaging it. I drover over a curb and let the car fall off of it and all sorts of crap trying to get the bumper off, nothing worked! LOL I thought I was cursed.

Like I said in my post, If you do a body kit, don't be one of those ricers that I will have to search for your car just to set it on fire for killing it, that goes and puts an unpainted body kit on their car. If your going to do it, do it right. Have the body kit painted first then install it.

If not, use the money you were going to spend on the body kit, ditch the park bench, put the stock wing back on, buy some springs, look around for a set of really nice but cheap wheels, I find them all over the place. A friend of mine just paid 150 for a set of Lexus IS300 17" 5spoke wheels with good tires, and painted them black and wow they look killer... Look in another post, some guy just put 3g eclipse wheels on his 1gb eclipse non turbo... holy crap it looks sexy.

A Lowered 1g DSM looks killer with nice wheels. Do a headlight repair on your headlights to get them looking crystal clear again. Take them apart and do a blackout to them, or buy a set of new ones like mine on ebay. VHT your tail lights smoked, or black.... Or leave them alone, they look good stock. Spend your cash on making your Non Turbo 1.8 Eclipse, a 2.0 turbo FWD with the insurance prices of the Non Turbo and make it a sleeper.

LOL OP i have that kit on my 1ga, it sure sets the car apart if you do it right it looks good, if you have a white dsm do the "panda" thing aswell, since i got my car i swapped out the hood, headlight covers, fuel door, and side trim all for black and it really makes the car stand out

I had that exact kit on my 2G. It was too low to the ground. You hit 1 small bump, you got ugly scrapes. You cant pull into driveways, parking lots, ect.... And it sucks coming to pretty much a complete stop, so you cant pull in. And it still scrapes anyway. Take it from a guy who had the same kit, you will regret it. Buy a decent set of rims, and buy a lip. Then use the extra money to make your car look clean as can be.
But if you do it right, and raise the car a little bit, you can make your car an 'OH DAAAAAAMMMMMNNNN! Look at that beautiful ass car!'
Post up pics when you get on.

Do whatever you want. You should modify it to run 1gb talon license plate holder then you can have 2 rear plates. confuse the popo son.

Ive seen that kit on a 1g before. Actually looks pretty mean if the rest of the car is done right.

If you do it right like Cypress it doesn't look that bad, but I really would suggest passing on the whole thing, body kits chip and crack easy anyway... and please lose that aluminum wing

OP: Warned for grammar. Post intelligently, or don't post.

my friend had this same exact body kit on his 1gb. minus the ridiculous wing he put on with the body kit, it looks good if your into that type of thing. Out of all the body kits you can slap on a 1g this is ###### the best. So do what you want, but just make sure you don't mold the front bumper on for a few reasons, if you hit a bump its going to crack where you molded it horrible, and for some reason if you ever have to take the bumper off you're gonna have a heck of a time.

when that bodykit was on my car when i got it the car scraped pushing it down my driveway and the rear bumper was chipping and they are just a pain in the ass thats why i cut the bumper off haha
haha look at the difference of stock and then the drift kit

My car already sits 13 and 1/2 inches, on the back with stock already and 10 and 1/2 on the front with stock. my drive way is not bad, nor where i live. i just need a new exhaust and some other things! but 1 more day getting it Wednesday at 8 in Greeley! I wish I could drive my car out there, it would be a great trip in it.... but you know how little 1g dsms are! Thanks for all the advice and warnings on the kit does anyone know what body kits are made out of compared to stock body's??

Most body kits are FiberGlass. AKA BREAKABLE! Stock body is ABS Plastic/Urethane. AKA Flexible. Why were giving you warnings, is because even if your car sits soo high off the ground, Its going to take ALOT to make it look good. You need to have the body kit molded right, no one peice is identical. so it will have to be mounted, then area's trimmed. Then prepped, Primered, Painted. Then your going to worry about pot holes, speed bumps, your driveway, which you will hit, don't think you wont... all these things play in with it. You hit a pot hole, the impact from that will start cracking away and you'll left with tons of cracks, chips, dings, hell could just lose the entire bottom half of the body kit. And then you just spent all that money for prep, primer and paint, and your screwed.

Which is why people like me say, Lower your car, take off the ridiculous wing. Paint the hood to match the car, or get a CF Hood. Find a set of diff wheels, Even stock wheels look damn good. And then your car is sexier than it will ever be with a body kit. I don't know about you, But what I find sexy, is nice wheels, 0 fender gap, stock body, and a killer sound coming out of the exhaust. Nothing beats a cammed 4g63, with straight exhaust. I guess its just an adult thing vs. child thing. Kids go and watch the fast and furious movies and think thats what everyone likes. There is a few DSM's local with body kits. I wish their cars would catch on fire. there are a couple guys on here with body kits on their 2g's... they knew how to do it. Paint job that cost more than my car... Car never see's the street, just the shows. Those are the only ones I could vouch for.

But like I said and others have, it is your car, do with it as you will. Just hope you make the right choice for you.
