and 240whp 240.......wtf
I am running rich and the people in hawaii really dont know how to use the MAFT
but come on I wanted to be at 300 by now.
Everyone thinks AEM stand alone will get me there from here any sug.?
the more help the better.

Very true. We can help you tune until you're link estimates show well over 300whp. Then hit they dyno for an official number. Tell your shop, "Subcontract to me as I'll tune all your dsm customers now that I learned how to do it." ;)

i think he never seen a maft before but since i've been there so much he got it down ez. but he's a mean tuner on aem.
besides saying aem ems is way to much for what i need give me some other reason because with me if i am shelling out 700+ for link and eprom, 1150 is not to far away. is there some adv. to link that will not come with aem. also the aem is plug and play no hardwareing anything

first off the ease of use.

second there is no need to go crazy getting driveability nice and smooth. dsmlink basically does all that grunt work for you..

AEM ecm is for people that need the more refined tuning, 600+ hp, V3 lite+socketing is about 450+ shipping so that is about half the price of AEM. you could take the extra $$$ and buy some cams, plus you can easily tune EcmLink your self.

Any good tuner will be open to tune what you have, not what they want.

It's about 750. Your great deal with ems is still 400 more . Can we say nice cam upgrade or an fm intake manifold upgrade, or delta regrinds and fp race exhaust manifold upgrade? And worse is when you want to change, unless you know ems, you'll have to experience it's learning curve no matter what. Or you're tied to your tuner. With ecmlink, the learnign curve is a quite bit better arc, as mentioned.

+2 tied to the tuner = no fun when your broke spending money on parts

A very good reason to not go with AEM EMS is: independence. Why would you want to be so tied down with your shop? Do you want to pay money all the time just to tune something or tighten a bolt? An engine overhaul or machining is something different. Or custom fabrication because you don't have the right tools, time, or lack of knowledge like welding, mechinenist, collision/auto repair, etc. But for bolt ons and tuning, you can do it yourself and save tons of money for your next upgrade. Cams, entake manifold, exhasut manifold, bigger turbo, suspension upgrades, etc. Just to name a few.
Imagine, you go via EMS. Then what? What are you going to do? Rely on the shop to tune your car? What if you need to change a setting because of the weather change or that you changed a part that affects VE and you don't have money or the shop is closed for that weekend, holiday, season, etc. What will you do?
I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe you have alot of money and just likes to do it that way. Which is good too.
I'n my opinion, I'd go with ECMLink or Jackal if your car is a 1g.
There is sooo much support for ECMLINK that I can honestly say that its much easier to tune with it than it is with a Maf translator. Its very user friendly.
Jackal is also a great way to go with tuning too. Tons of support for it. But only if you have a 1g. If you don't have an eprom ecu, then ecmtuning can convert it.
This is just my opinion but at the end, yours is the only one that matters.

ok now there is some excellent points. im convinced i'll go with link you guys are right i dondt want to be tied to the tuner and i think one of the features for the new aem is a tunner lock on the system!!!!! for get that next upgrade will be some bolt ons, ex mani sale at fp 175!! then save for link. i will keep updating to keep every one in formed.

Yeah. You'd be crazy not to get the FP manifold right now. If its on sale, then take advantage of this opportunity. Its at a very rediculous low price. Once the sale is gone, its gone. At the moment, just lower your boost untill you get LINK and start tunning.

update I put on some 560cc injectors Tube mani, clutch, and someone gave me a safc sooooo..... Im going to tune again, This time on the safc, any suggestions on where to keep the MAFT like put all the settings on 0 and do everything on the SAFC or use both? or what?
