i have a 94 eclipse 1.8L and there is a knock coming from the lower end .
it really sounds like a rod but I just put new main & rod bearings in friday.
so its not a rod or a main bearing .......... HELP !!!!

If it knocks more when you put a load on it (accelerating) it could be piston slap. This is usually caused by detonation or broken rings or lands.

If it knocks more without a load (cruising) it could be a wrist pin.

Did you torque the rod and main caps to spec? May want to pull the pan off and double check.

ya there torqued right. its not under acceleration you can here it very well when your crusing. ..... how hard is it to do a motor swap. if i were to put the 2.0 in what all would i need to change.. i know the trany is one what else?
