The last car I rebuilt was a 1969 Mach I, that was a long time ago. My newest project is a 1995 Eagle Talon TSI. The only problem is I don't know where to start. Does anyone know if there is a book or guide out to doing a ground up job on these cars. I'd like to build a show quality car.. that can go to the track and do well should i ever get the urge ;). I'll be taking it to Europe eventually and need something that will take the autobahn with style..hehe. Thanks for any help and info anyone can send my way.

Do you have the factory service manual, the Haynes manual and the Chilton's manual? The factory service manual is...well it's the factory service manual so it's comprehensive (also available on CD). The Haynes and Chiltons each have sections that are more user friendly than their counterparts respective section...all three together should give you a good baseline I would imagine. I don't know of a bottom up DSM restoration guide...we may not be that far into automotive history just yet.
The bigger question may be-how much is wrong with your Talon? My 1995 is in pretty good shape for being a decade old and while I'd love to have the time/$ to start from the bottom up, it's really not necessary at this time...maybe when she's 20. :)

My 95 has about 150,000 miles on it. Paints faded out, and just gone in some places. Some 'shopping cart' dings in the body and its starting to bubble rust on the leading edge of the hood. Under the hood shes starting to show the miles as well, a fair amount of rust coming through the paint, especially on the shock towers. I know its probably going to need a clutch as well. I cant complain though, picked it up for 1000 :sneaky: I have the time, so I want to 'fix er up good'. Thanks for the help.
