I'm glad we can laugh about this now. The memory of looking at that melted plug is going to haunt me forever.
First chance I get, I'll take a picture of my new ring.
Jesse, I'm never going to soldier AFC connections again (unless it on a patch harness).

I was going to but I figured its just going to be dirty soon anyways. If anything, i can just give it a once over when its not raining. Thanks again Dan!

that nigh at Larry's was awsome, Were all B.S ing then all of sudden Larry's like Fu## and he turned all pale. He kept apologising the rest of the night. I know that when I do mine Im going to soend the 100 bucks for the patch its worth every penny.

I'm going to sound like a total weiner but what is the patch? When I put in my SAFC I just sodered on the harness it came with.

The patch harness is a jumper harness meant to plug in line with the ecu harness. It is basically just a 8 inch section of wire with one end plugging into the ecu and the other plugs into the harness. It lets you do all your soldering outside of the car and then you just plug it in under the dash and your done. You can buy one from anybody that sells evo parts since that is what they market it for, helps to remove it and your afc, tt, or whatever you have before going to the dealership so they dont void your warranty. I think that is why they market it to the evo guys and not the eclipse guys, but it is still worth it to avoid mistakes like this one. And as we found out that night they definitely fit the eclipse too. I think larry had gotten his from rre.

Yea RRE has them. When I get a chance I'll double check the plugs, Evo vs. 2g Eclipse. I do know that it will not work on a 1g.

oh I see so its basically for pansy's!!!! haha I kid I kid dont worry. but yeah I just have way to much hair on my chest to be using one of those thats why I sodered mine like a real man! haha

Hair on your chest?
Larry I think you need to keep your kids in line. :p
