Quite honestly since it's a GSX and is in good condition 4500 isn't a bad price. Though like people are saying KBB isn't what it's worth to us. I payed 3k for my 90 TSi AWD. Is it worth it to a car company? No. Is it worth that much to me. Yes.

And boo this punk above my post jackin your thread.

In my personal opinion $4,500 is way too much. Take your time and buy one that's worth it especially if not in dire need. I just bought my second DSM and got a great deal. I got a 95 tsi awd that was bone stock w/ 63k for $6,000.00 w/ a warranty. The only 2 things wrong were the roof was a bit sun faded and the previous owner superglued some creepy little toys to the dash. These problems are so minor compared to the extra 112k on the clock that your looking at not to mention the mods and usage of the previous owner. Keep Looking and Good Luck

Well the price seems a touch high to me. I purchased my 97 with 81k 2nd owner car flawless for $6,000 back in 03.

I would start negotiating with the guy. I would advise you take the car to a reputable DSM shop in your area, pay them to inspect it. It may cost you $100, if they find a laundry list of small things that need to be fixed you have now armed yourself with negotiating ammo and spent $100. If they find something major wrong with the car, you spent a $100 and avoided a ton of headache.

I personally think I would offer in the mid $3's for the car, assuming it passes inspection.

On a side note, I have seen many high mileage high abuse 7 bolts that are still kicking, my personal favorite is a 98 GSX with 198K on the clock, has had a 30R sized turbo on it since 97K. Been beaten to an inch of its life, normal boost is set at 26 psi. Still kicking, crank end play is on the tight side of spec. Freak of a engine, it likes life lean!

Personally I think it is worth roughly $4k assuming it has had 0 accidents and no major rust. The engine does sound like its a ticking time bomb (cause it has so many miles), but since it has good compression and new timing components, it should last you a while longer. How's the condition of the exterior? The interior? Check all the switches and make sure they work. Also, I don't know if this is important in Washington, but check that A/C works well ;)

Edit: Sorry, just saw that you said the interior/exterior are good.
Yeah the mileage is the worst part of it all. No A/C needed here in WA buddy. I'm originally from San Diego, just stationed here. Heater is our best friend here. haha

Look at it this way....he values the car at $4500. Do you? And the car is 14 years old. That's 14 years of untold abuse. Maybe it had an oil change like clockwork and a "good" mechanic fixed everything.....but then maybe you'll win the lottery too.
The value is decent compared to what everyone's asking for nation-wide. Hopefully i have the winning numbers then..

I paided 5000 for a 96 with a new motor, with similar bolt on's but i had plans on fixing the car and not getting rid of it ,so it was worth it to me, its all in what it worth to you
My plans are pretty much the same. Just a side project. I have an suv as a daily.

Is it the white one with black rims on craigslist?
No it's not posted on craigslist. It's my co-worker's. Why? Is that white one that you're talking about a good one? I noticed yours is a 95 gsx also. How is it holding up and how much would you let yours go for?

I say you wait untill something comes up better probably for the same price.. that car has way too many miles and no work to be 4500, trust me wait and you will find better.
That's what i'm trying to convince myself with. Thanks for echoing my inside-voice.. haha

If you think about it. $1,500 difference on your price, i can get the motor rebuilt for just as much maybe cheaper. Plus at the end of it all, no faded paint and creepy toys. Just a thought.

I'm pretty good when it comes to inspections. I work for a living as an aviation mechanic and i'm pretty good at attention to detail. I'm hoping to get a freak of an engine like you mentioned.

Well I'm gonna say it I got my car about 4months ago fully stock 1995 Eagle Talon AWD on stock laser mesh wheels painted black and clean everything. 98k miles the kid wanted 4500 I stole it from him gave him 3300 cash his title wasnt even opened OMG I had people to do that so it was cool. I am sure if you wait it will come I waited 3months and almost settled on alot of cars but I found this and jumped on it. poor kid didnt even have a chance to think. I say you wait.

Is it just me or does this 95 GSX have a GReddy 18G turbo kit on it with a BIN price of $3950?

i dont care, every dsm i have bought has been wrecked in the front anyone who can weld can fix it, its that easy and from what i can see it looks like that has been in a minor front accident, people always say its hard to sell a car with a salvage title but anyone who loves a dsm with all options and some mods will buy it, if that was a 420a model i would pass on that.

I would pass being salvaged.

Hell you want my 91 with more mods and half the miles of that car for a couple hundred more?

I'm just saying that with that turbo kit on there, you could buy the car sell the turbo kit put a T25 on it and then sale the car to. Or keep the turbo kit, put the t25 setup on there and sale the car.

im glad you don't care. matter of fact, i have a 99 awd auto that was t-boned at more than 60 mph,, someone put a complete side on the car, you can't tell too much until you look underneath, and none of the body lines match up even on the other side of the car. ill give it to you for a low price of 2900.00 with a original 63,000 miles..............want it?:hellyeah:
