What are your guyses thoughts on this....1995 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD 120K clean title!!!

That car's exterior looks hella clean. The interior could use some work. It's stock which is a + which means you know it's not hacked up. And the price is right. I would buy that car in a heartbeat. Throw on a used MAS and start the maintenance and modding process.

Do it.

BTW, if you buy it, before you do anything change that ghey shift knob!!!

Eh... i have some friends telling me that i shouldn't be so sure that it will fix it. They don't believe that it will. I'm trying to show my parents it is a good car, and i dont want to just show up with it all running shitty LOL. I just want to be sure that it will fix it.

One of my parents works at a GM dealership, is it possible that he can find a better car for $3500? I think it has to be a GM product

Wait hold on here a minute guy..I have to ask...What are you plans for this car? do you just want a daily driver? Or are you looking to go fast?

Look. This is a DSM forum. You are going to get biased opinions from us on what cars to buy.

It's throwing a MAS code. He says it needs a new MAS.

Buy a used MAS and throw it on there. A used one can cost you <$75. Shoot I'll sell you my 2g mas that I know works and that will give me a reason to swap to DS-Map.

Sure you can always find a better deal on different cars. But this '95 is in probably the best shape you will find for the money they want for it.

I saw some similar threads to this, but I still have to ask you guys.

There is this 1997 Eclipse for sale near me for only $900. The guy said the only thing wrong with it is the sunroof will not close all the way (about an inch open) and there is a tear in the front bumper; nothing major. The car has 144,000 and is an automatic. The A/C and everything works. He bought new tires the vehicle two weeks ago and has receipts.

I've been looking on Craigslist and have seen similar cars go for $6,000. It just seems unrealistic to be priced that way. Can anyone help me out or tell me what I should be looking for? I'll be looking at this car tomorrow and possibly be buying it.

I need something to replace my lemon 1993 Eclipse that barely starts or keeps an idle. I was wondering if this could be a safe go. Sorry I don't have anymore details about it. I mean for $900 how bad could it be?

He said he was getting rid of it because he owns two trucks and doesn't need the third car. He works two jobs and is getting married to his fiance. Supposedly he has two kids (not a family car). Any advice?

Actually Kirby I'm picking up a 97 GST suto for $900 this week. Dude got drunk and ran into a pole, needs a fender, tranny cooler and there is a vacuem leak because the turbo is boosting on startup..Plus the guy just ordered an 09 shelby mustang and has no time for dsm's anymore. So I'd say good find bro...

I hope it's alright. I sorta traded my old Probe (blown tranny/bad clutch) for a even worse 1993 Eclipse.. I need something reliable for college. I have all my tution payed for by the school and I just took out a $5,000 loan.. for some reason.. eh.. anyway..

Gotta love student loans. Well I get $2270 on the 22nd of this month and the rest next semester. So it's really about $4600 but I still have to save some for student fees and books (about $1,000). Lame thing is the loan has interest. Oh well, I'll worry about that in four years.

I have to wait till summer to pay back my 30g's. Went to Wyotech, worst 30g's I ever spent. Went for high ferformance, they renigged on my contract and now i'm a mechanic..Screw it I'll work at jiffy lube if i have too...Not really. just applying anywhere really.

Well if its a N/T that sounds about right for that with they much miles on it. I bought a 95 N/T talon 2 years ago for 1100 with 40k miles on the motor all it needed was a tune up. N/ts dont go for alot now days

I would say go for the test drive and make sure to hit a freeway. If nothing comes up then buy it. Also, dont be gentle when test driving :)

I paid $450 for my 96 TSi AWD with a blown engine, and a running 6 bolt spare with a awd 5spd attached to it. Sold off the engine and tranny for $960 and then bought stuff from there to build a 2.3 stroker, Now I've spent more than I ever thought I would building an engine LOL :)

bought mine from a guy that just had to move so the car had to be sold in two days period. got it for 450, but me and 360glitch and my buddy warren have put like 100 hours in it trying to get it ready to autox...lots of gaskets and cleaning and interior stuff to make it hospitipal again

I know that i have posted this before, but i really love this car, it seems to be in great shape. But, you can never trust people on Craigslist as most people have found out... Do you guys honestly 100% trust that it is the MAF, and why? Here it is:1995 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD 120K clean title!!! . Im hesitant about buying it, would it be easy and effective to take the MAF off my friends 98 GSX to go test it, and put it on and test drive it?

That is a super-clean looking car. Yes you can take your friends MAF and swap them to see if thats the proble. And if it is the MAF you can always get one much cheaper on the boards here than the price the dealer quoted the guy posting the ad.
