So i contacted the seller of this car: eagle talon 1995 turbo
HE said that he used it for stereo competitions, he put a $3000 stereo in it. He has a blow off valve, muffler, and those racing seats are the only aftermarket items. He claims to have never raced it nor put any other engine mods into it. He said he just needed a sporty car to show his stereo in. Claims it runs and drives good. He also states that he cant find the back seats, but another person in my area is selling ALL seats from his 95 talon for $100 PERFECT condition. What do you guys think?

IT was probably me that was looking at it, i had a post on another thread, but no one really replied. Wish me luck guys! I Hope its good

He says he has a tool that sniffs inside radiator for exhaust gases and if so then it has a blown head gasket or cracked head.

LOL

You might want to re-think who you're bringing to check out the car then. Maybe your friend meant a leakdown test? If the car has a blown headgasket there could be oil in your coolant or vice-versa...you can't sniff a radiator though. ROFL

I prefer to sniff my radiator when my car is hot.
After driving hard, I put my face over the radiator cap and unscrew.

^ +1 Seriously not the best thing to say, god forbid someone actually does that.

There is a kit that you can buy that will check for exhaust gasses in your cooling system. So the kit could work if the car has a cracked block or bad head gasket.

I take back what I said then. That's the first time I've ever heard of anything like that.

So, i found a DSM that i like. Ive been on here for a little bit trying to learn more about DSMs. I found a 95 eagle talon tsi. Its supposed to have a 6 bolt swap(thats what i was told). Recently rebuilt with only 500 miles on it. I have the guys number to the performance shop who rebuilt it. Is there any other way to verify it? Or should i call? They say that it has high idle at 1900-2100 rpms. I was told that they adjusted the screw and it didn't fix the problem. They pointed towards the iac. Front bumper needs to be painted to match the car perfect. the the rear side panel has a dent that looks like someone tried to repair it with a dent king or something and failed horribly! The car is supposed to have the ACT 2600 6 puck and act flywheel. How do i check to make sure these parts are in there? Ask for receipts or would i be able to feel the clutch and just know? Also, stated was that the a/c blows but not cold. I was told that it needed a recharge, and that was all. The car also has autometer phantom boost and a/f gauges on the a-pillar. If these are the only problems with the car i know individual people for all the fixes. The price tag on the car is $6000.00. Which seems a little high for me being as the value is only at $3175 dollars at excellent condition! What do you guys think i should offer? Im open to any discussion and/or opinions. Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure by "iac" you mean isc, think it stands for Idle Speed Control? It's a pretty cheap and easy fix to replace that. $6,000 is definitely a lot unless it has real low miles. The kbb values don't reflect the aftermarket parts and how sought-after these cars are.

Edit: Never mind, there's an iac too. Not sure of the difference, but I believe it will still be a cheap and easy fix.

Although the isc motor is pretty expensive I got mine for $149. Best bet is to find one at a junk yard.

So im going for a test drive tommorow. He says someone might buy it, but i think hes just saying that to get me going, do you think? Anyways, ill let you know how everything goes. and hopefully ill become a true member of the DSM community.

so they have both an idle air controller and an idle speed controller? Either way i have the hook up at two different junk yards. I know they are sought after. But dents and non matching paint. I want to say that the car may have been red at one time. In one of the pictures of the interior the back hatch has a plactic molding piece missing and its red underneath. Could just be the hatch though, i dunno. Oh i forgot to add the car does have 112,000 miles. Thanks for the quick replies guys!

To check to see what kind of clutch is in there you can peel back the clutch fork boot and take a flashlight to see if the pressure plate is yellow. You will be able to tell if it's an ACT but you won't be able to verify if it's a 2100, 2600, etc.

projectgs: Clutch fork boot? the shifter boot? How do i push it back if everything is in the car? Any details or pictures? Im new to these cars, hence the newb part of the forum!
