Yea, idk why he is running it open o2 housing.

Idc if it has a spun bearing or not. The price I'm getting it for is a steal in its self. I'm just gonna look over the car very carefully for rust and hacked up mods/parts.

Anybody else have any input?

That sound's like a bearing to me.
Specially if it shut's off after reving it.
My old motor did the Same.

Oil can come from bad rings, bad turbo seals, and/or oil getting into the intake/exhaust. I just fixed a problem where I had a head stud squirting oil into the exhaust manifold.

When my van had the rod knock it sounded like a clacking noise. Pulling the plugs may change that, and it may not if it's really bad. If it's really bad you'll need a new crank. 2.3 or 2.4 is the solution : D

I say get it and plan on an engine rebuild.

While at first glance I thought it seemed like a pretty good deal, with almost 130K miles of abuse the engine will need a rebuild. And let's face it, almost $6,500 for a 1Ga is pretty steep.

If its truly what they say it is, its probably worth it. Thats a really clean dsm, with a lot of expensive mods.

dont sound like a spun bearing at all I've had two cars that spun bearings and it definitely sound louder and different like when you shake a can of spray paint but more solid. I will go with the leak test.

definitely it sounds like a deal and for the looks of it and the list of mods it has it shows that an engine rebuild in no where near it probably was rebuild already. Good deal Good luck

This is a TSI...I thought all TSIs are AWD. In the drivetrain description they mention AWD.

I am looking at a 97 GS-T that has 142k miles completely stock and the guy is asking 4800 is it worth it. very clean car inside and out and it is loacted around my area he also said the turbo was replaced a few months ago.

I almost got ripped off once not a good thing>

If it is close, drive it and check it out well. After it is all said and done, if you are happy with the car and the price you paid then it is all good.

Id pass, but thats just me. Im sure the car has been thrashed. It looks cheap with those seats and wing too.
