If want to run an external dump, do not get the VRS 02 Elim. I think 3" would actually hurt you, yes. If your boost creeps, you risk the chance of denotating, not to mention blowing your motor or turbo.

Don't buy an expensive name brand exhaust, get the cheapest 3" you could find. A pipe is a pipe. Don't get SS if you can get the other for cheaper, Unless you plan on having the car for ever, The other piping make won't rust and rot like most people will say. You want ngk bpr6es plugs, Not some iridum plugs or whatever was recommended to you from the above poster. I don't know why they have an safc2 listed, when you can get an older safc for HALF the cost..If you really wanted one. You're not going to ''blow up'' your car only because it's a 7bolt.... I just put an HX40 on my friends COMPLETLY STOCK 7bolt, 850's and every other bolt on that they make for our cars, I have his boost set at 25psi, And the car runs like a champ. I'm putting cams in for him as soon as he saves up enough and buys them.

Good luck on your purchase/s

Thats right. I got 100k on my GSX and the compression is still 175 across all 4, and she still feels nice and tight. And I make her earn her keep!! I love 6k launches! :p If ya get FWD LSD is always nice. But dont know if ## havin someone do the work or DIY. Drivetrain upgrades are always good!!

I got one of those off of ebay and there is a gap between the bezel trim and the glass/platic of the stock gauges, how is yours?

Does the AEM have any type of alarm/warning on the gauge? How big is the gauge? 52mm / 60mm?

My fits nicely, no gaps

Yeah I received mine in the mail and am very satisfied fis great. Did you end up putting screws in the two bottom holes or did you just use the two stock ones.
stock ones

how do you guys like the pod holder down where your other gauges are? I currently have a 3 piller on the side, and would like to get rid of that for the lower pod. gotta be stealth LOL

I have that pod that goes around my dash thingy that holds 2....its pretty nice cause I didnt want to have to have that pillar.

THe pod suprisingly oesn't even come close to blocking any of the other stock gauges. I didn't know if it would or not. I have yet to get the WB 02 in yet. I was very satisfied though, especially for something that cost 24 dollars shipped.

Its cause the stock ones are farther back.... people in the car cant see the stock ones cept the driver

I may have spoke to soon, I went out to install the pod and at first I was installing it over the existing molding. But if I were to do this I would have to cut alot out of the molding and some out of the the clear plastic. The other way was to take out the molding and install it that way. The problem with that is there is about a 1/4 inch gap between the pod and the clear plastic.

That's exactly how mine is.

I don't have any gauges for it yet but I was thinking about doing a little fiberglass work to fill in the gap or, I hated cutting OEM stuff but...., trim off enough of the OEM molding and glue it to the new pod to fill in the gap.

If I remember right one side has less gap than the other, but either way there is a gap.

I have the Autometer gauge cluster bezel & while the fit is great you have to properly choose what gauges you want to install as all won't fit depending on their depth because they will hit on the instrument cluster. I know deeper gauges such as Greddy won't fit without modifying the stock cluster. Most Autometer gauges aren't as deep and they fit without any modifications.

I know this sounds like a newbie thread right off the bat. Well here is my background, I just sold my 450whp daily driven srt-4. It had a built motor; every mod made for the car with a gt3076r turbo etc etc. So I am by NO means new to the turbo world. But the motor buildup kind of screwed me because I realized that I couldnt keep up with the car anymore. So here I am. I ended up selling the Srt-4 for $20K cash, and bought this car for only $7500, so you guys do the math on how much I have to spend. I dont want to just throw it away though, I can think of a good 2-3k i wasted on the srt-4 on stupid shit that I ended up getting rid of. I'm going to get a $2-3k daily driver so I want to put some serious work into this car.

I need advice. I dont want this stock turbo to be on for more than like 1 week, I am incredibly bored already. So I need a list of mods to give me a good setup for the stock motor (thinking about a SBR shortblock, but stock for now) that will make me some good power, my buddy has a 50 trim and I like his setup.

I was thinking:
sbr50 (I know you guys like the FP turbos as well)
Dsmlink
injectors (size?)
Fuel Press regulator
fmic/exo/intake (basic bolt ons)
clutch?

any other big thing that I am missing. I dont think like an upgraded intake manifold is necessary at this point but I'm open to offers.
EDIT: also getting all this in one place would probably save me some money as well as hassle

Thanks in advance guys!

Jeff

Hey, welcome over here and let me be the first to say maintenance. Be safe then boost. As for mods...A guy went 10.8 I belive on a fp3052 on pump and no Nitrous.

research is best in this situation to find what you want. I can tell you that ACT is big here

Alot + myself run a 2600. When doing this, know our cars like only a STOCK TOB.
cams and an intake manifold will yeild the best results and really wake up top end on a nice Turbo like the ones your looking at. So those arent wasted in the DSM world.

DSMLink is by far the most superior logical tuning device. User friendy and the support is great. A respectable and trust worth DSMer told me dont go any bigger than 900ish CC injctors because its tough to control them enough at idle and you will use more fuel with out being able to pull it back.- Then again alot of guys run the 1000cc, so searching will help you there. Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator kits are nice. WalBro 255 fuel pump will support alot of power.

Thats most of what I can think of now and Im sure alot other will come in and give their 2 cents. Goodluck

Thanks for the reply man! 10.8 is a little faster than I'm looking to go at this point haha, but the ACT clutch just jumped into the Srt market (we use the stock TOB as well) and I actually had one on my old turbo civic so I am familiar with them. Cams are definately on my list, I had an agressive set of top end cams in my srt-4 and I loved them, car screamed up top with the cams and the 3076r. I cant wait to get the DSMlink, the srt market was either like afc or standalone, no in between. Thanks for the advice though, thats a good start for me!

My buddy has the 2g SBR fmic kit and I will probably get that one. Exhaust just any turboback will do, my buddy said that Buschar makes one with a stock-ish looking muffler, which I think I would like more than like an Apexi tbo back.

Keep it coming!

Nice Welcome to the family, shit 11k Go for the stroker motor and a shep tranny. If you got a dd then you dont need the car running right away you should just go balls to the wall.:beatentodeath:
