Do you have a boost gauge or mbc yet? Could always do that, fp rewire, and 190 pump, and a custom 2.5" exhaust(3" if cheap enough).

It shows in real time knock, timing and about 25 other pieces of data along with a built in "g-Tech" so you can check 0-60MPH,1/8th mile and 1/4mile. Yea, south buttler. I forgot i have a 60mm splitfire boost gauge, mbc-$20, $100 for full 3 inch mandrel bent, relay for rewire -$7, 4ga. wire should be free. Im going to gut the interior. Im not sure where to get my bottle filled so i may do without that. A friend said i should have a tubular 02 housing made and get one of the cheap tubular turbo manifolds (pacesetter) and have it rewelded and wrap everything in fiberglass header wrap (i have a 100foot spool of it. I also want to do something for a fmic and maybe use the fuel solonoid from my N2O kit to make an interchiller with brake line and c02 paintball tanks. I have my fathers parts store and few salvage yards at my disposal.

If you were wondering why im waisting my time it is because a local musclehead running a dyno'd 500hp (he carries the dyno slip everywhere) 65 elcamino w/ 383 stroker, challanged me that i couldn't build an import car by october that could beat him, and i told him that i could not only build a faster car, that i could also build one for less than $500. That figure included buying the car as well. And he said that if i could beat him with only $500 invested total he would give me $500, but if i lose i have to spend the rest of the night cleaning his car in a mini skirt. He saw the car when i bought it and knows that it is bone stock, and i have to show recipts for every mod i put on the car. He also said that i could use the parts i already have, but i had to tell him what those were, he is taking this very serious as am I. Im not going to cheat, this is an honorable challange and i think that i can build a faster car.

Also, i think he runs mid 6 sec in the 1/10... And he just changed to an auto trans with a stall converter (700R4 w/ 4800stall) i think.

You bought the car and only have $500.00 to spend, To beat a 500hp car! I hope the car you bought is in perfect condition(Mechanically). But then again, There was a build up of the fwd car on a budget that is running in the 11's on the 14b. Either way, Good luck and keep us updated. Well this is 500hp when it was in the stock car it came out with, and it also had a single 1200cfm holly dominator, now its in a truck with a dual 4 highrise and two 650 hollys, although i think he caught wind that i got the TSi running (which is running fine and seems to be in real nice shape mechanicaly, body wise its lacking) I will have pictures definetly

I also have a 91 tsi awd w/ auto trans and LSD which i might take to the track aswell

When I suggested the "Scanmaster" I did not know the whole story. If you don't tune your motor you loose. This is a 528 ft. race. Man if this guy has a dyno slip for 500HP he must have slicks also. You're going to need 2 shifts to get thru that distance. I applaud you for your effort but you should have said something like for 1/3rd of what you havein yours...anyway when I saw turboville and then the 1/10 mile South butler came to mind. Post the date, maybe I'll show. Mark

You said it yourself, the only thing you've got going for you is AWD because such of a short race. Get that power to the ground with a 2600 ACT. It's a pain, but it sounds like the best investment for your situation.

Also, i plan to part the car out after this so i dont want money into something like a clutch, any mod done to the car will likely get put over onto my 91 tsi awd thats automatic.

You know that there is a guy that went to Wyo Tech that turned a 4 cylinder turbo-charged car into a 10 second car by just modding all of the stock parts. He only wanted to prove that it could be done.

Hopefully I'm not talking out my a$$, I think this is true.

no he has a flat black 65 chevy elcamino, i will get cam2 to in watkins or 100oc leaded fuel at the airfeild. prolly 20 psi with modded intercooler pipes. 3 inch all the way back with a cheap 3 inch flex joint, im not sure about a muffler yet

this is the dumbest post I have ever read. Seriously who races 1/10th mile???? That's around the 330 foot mark. If you just want fast takeoff you need a good clutch and exhaust.

i would buy a $350 huge carbon fiber/aluminum wing because you will gain the most performance due to downforce, but mount it on the root so it distributes it evenly between front and rear

here we were having 8th mile drags at autocity up in flint and the winner was a 2g fwd against a 427 vet with 10" drag slicks because the vet spun them bad as hell. the 2g was def. modded to the teeth way over 500 bucks good luck though i hope you make a good name for 4g63s
