The news isnt good, how long do i have?

I just check the turbo on a 95' talon TSi i picked up last week to find out i have a bit of shaft play. In and out mostly but it seems like there is some side to side and up and down. How long should it last? No telling really how many miles its been like this but the car just hit 80k. It seems like it spools fine, now im just worried. What would you guys recomend to replace it? i really would like a direct swap but a little work on top of it is ok...

Theres really no saying how long you got. I would start looking for a turbo now because its not going to be long before your turbo takes a complete crap. You could always look for another t-25 or you could upgrade to a big t-28, which would be a direct bolt on.

Otherwise theres always 14b/16G route you could go, which would be alittle bit more work.

is a t25 whats on there now? there are no markings on it that i can see.

A t-25 is the stock 2G turbo. I would imagine thats whats on there, but would need a picture to confirm this.

like on my 1g on the compressor housing it says TD04. On my 2g Talon it doesnt say anything, i dont know if it was ever replaced, its possible the car has 80,000 on it.
