good news for the laser!!

getting a 60000 dollar settlement in 30 days so id like to do something to the laser (i want to keep a fwd for the sheer chalenge) i already have a few bolt ons but id like to put it into the low 11's maybe 10's. i was thinking about a fp3065 turbo with all the fixins to go with it. now boys and girls im setting a 8,000 maybe a little more spending limit, id like to know some tried and true combinations to get me to a decent time!! i have an extra short block laying around so i know ill need internals, most likely eagle forged rods and wiseco forged 9:1 compression pistons, cometic head gasket have some head work done, 272 272 web cams, 3g lifters, like i said all the fixins. thoughts?

i would do that but my laser already has more done to it performance wise. minus the 18g but ive already put down a 20g car with mine. nice looking car though!, im just lookin for enough stuff to put down my buddies 606 rwhp 03 cobra

don't wast the money on your car use it as a down payment on a house. just use a small amount on the car like 2-3 k or spend a little more on a car some one has already modded and go from there

i wouldnt spend alot if i didnt have a good job, i make over 50k a year so for me to splurge a little is ok im still investing 20k roughly

Don't waste the money on it.. You'll regret it. If you really are serious, You can buy an awd car and go faster with 300$ then you can dumping the money into your car now. If you are stuck on your car, Then look at the ''project good will'' car. I spent 10,500 on my last FWD, Sold it for 1,600. Went awd again and now will NEVER go back. I would rather max parts out then going bigger right from the start, That's how you end up slower then 14b powered cars. Just my opinion, So nobody that replies to this thread hasto give me negative reputation points with dumb idiotic comments.

Oooh, negative points from here. Like he said, if your actually planning on spending the amount you said, buy an AWD. I love my FWD but if I had the funds to do it again, I would rather go AWD. There's nothing like downshifting to 3rd at 70mph and roasting the tires.

do what you want!!! to make a FWD car that pulls from a dig would be different and going against the grain which is my kind of thinking. do something different!!! make a full drag fwd to show that you dont have to settle for awd to get good times. sometimes i think people get awd for a lame excuse to say that they cant launch or drive period. basically they have to get that setup so they dont have to wory about loosing a race from tire spin.

theres fwd guys in the nhra runnin 6's so i think i can manage. i have a few guys that built the saginaw vally state university racecar that are gonna help me tune in the suspension. there race car is the fastest one in the country or some stuff. i feel confident that if i lower it and put the right components under it i can make it hook (this will also include rolling the fenders and buying wide wheels with slicks.) we will see what happens!! hell if it dont work ill take most of it off and buy a awd car and slap it on that!!
