Ok so the problem was the ecu 100% with the no start unless you run a hot wire to the CAS.

Anyways well he got the new ecu in and therw it in .. well it fired up on its own and all the gauges going wacko and reving well the ecu is for a auto 91-94 but the car ran under its own power... soo im happy


My problem is since i am new i cant post a WTB ad and i need a ECU for a 1990 turbo -5-speed awd ..

Can anyone point me in the direction were i can find one please . Ive searched ebay again and craigslist and can not find one.

No, he said its an auto ecu. Assuming its a turbo auto ecu its for 390cc injectors and the 5spd uses 450's. The fuel isn't going to be rite if he just switches the pins.

Guys remember that a auto uses the higher 43psi bfp, while the M/t uses the 37psi, so the higher bfp of the auto almost perfectly offsets the smaller injectors. So as long as he keeps the big injectors with the low bfp he will be all right with that ecu.

Just take care of the 90 - 91 swap issues.

yah i just wanna get the right ecu that goes in the car.. im trying my best to do it right . seams i found a ecu .. i dont know if its eprom or not yet .. Or if the part numbers match but ill keep you guys posted.

Most normal people just update to the 91+ ecu. Good 90 ecu's are scarce. Iv'e been told the 91+ ecu's have better maps in them too.

So i can just swap 2 wires and its done and everything is all good ... ?

go to vfaq then electrical , third article down is the 1g ecu pinouts , scroll almost all the way down and they will be highlighted grey, pin numbers 6 and 14 all you have to do is cut those two wires a few inches back from the ecu and switch them and resolder and shrink wrap and youll be all set.

Let me say to find a ecu for a 90 is a pain in the a**. It took me about 2 months to get one. At the end I ended up buying a 91 galant ecu eprom for $200, I did switch the pins 6 and 14 it started up with no problems. All the gauges work except for the rpm one. Would any one know what would I have to do to get it working properly?

I'll post up the write up I got it from with the right diagram I used to switch the pins..
