I am not a big mustang fan, but its a cobra so you get my respect. It looks like a damn nice one too. Now remember to keep the dsm or youll just be another domestic guy.

whats with dsmers gettin mustangs recently? Oh yeah, its your dads not yours right? Still I lvoe that car :cool: :p
 
I'm liking the positive feedback guys :cool:. I'm the same. I hate Fords but I like the new Cobras a lot, and to the other guy with the Cobra, Sonic Blue is awesome :thumb:.

Im makin over 400 to the wheels and my half-shafts are just fine. Its all about controlling the power. If you dump the clutch and let the rear end hop around, then the half shafts will snap like twigs. But, if you ease out of the hole, and then punch it when you get grip, theyll be just fine. Of course, ya could always just go to a solid axle and not worry about snapping anything, but that kills the ride quality and the great handling.

a friends 450whp cobra blew the half shafts out just like that, it wheel hopped at the track and crack!

can't you beef up the half shafts and irs and keep the system, i have head people doing that with good sucess

To keep good traction and not snap halfshafts on the IRS you really need a huge list of parts: anti-hop shocks, polyurethane bushings, upgraded halfshafts(stock ones are good up to about 480-500 RWHP if you have all the other mods), differential brace, subframe connectors, etc etc etc. Now if you have all that, then you need to worry about breaking the input shaft on the tranny, it only holds up to about 450 RWHP reliably. But, as usual, someone makes an upgrade for that too. All in all, all the stock drivetrain and engine parts work fine up till 500 RWHP, at that point you enter a whole new world of mods. At least the internals are proven up to and over 1000 FWHP.
 
For those who say that they "hate" Ford I hope you all have valid reasons. Most people I talk to say "I hate Ford" and I ask why...they say "just because they are ###".

Hopefully you had some experience to back it up and it's not just word of mouth.

Ya seriously, why does that matter? Well I just took her out for her first real drive. Big adjustment from a turbo 4cyl to a blown v8 is all I have to say :).
