Seriously, what cars actually came with these things? I have a list that specifies every vehicle that came with a 4G64 or G4CS, but for the last 2 years of monthly junkyard visits I've found zilch, nada. Zero 100mm cranks. Every single friggin' early 90's Galant, Sonata, Expo, etc, either has a 4g63 2.0 SOHC, 4g93 1.8l, or G4CN (4g63). Was the 2.4 a rare option or something? What am I doing wrong?

Check out for a Mitsu Eclipse N/T Spyder Convertible like 95-99... they were 4G64's... or 2.4 litres.

I found one untouched 91 Mitsubishi Expo van with a 100 6-bolt crank at a local junkyard. I snatched that baby and now am happily running my 2.3L. Got the crank checked and it was perfect.

elusive? there are 4 knife edged cranks sitting here next to the other spare parts; :)

4 cranks? You could build a pair of twin-engine Talons and I can't even find one. LOL

You wouldn't happen to have that list handy would ya?

I looked around and I can't find it on my comp. I'll have to look through my old bookmarks and maybe search the web a bit to see if I can find it again. For the six bolt 100 mm cranks it was primarily 89-92 Galants, Expos, an Eagle or two (Summit? Whatever that sedan was?), and Hyundai... I think it was the Sonata, but I just check every early 90's Hyundai because I can't tell them apart.

On another note there were over 30 DSMs at the junkyard today and not one turbo car. I've also only seen one turbo car in the entire time I've been going to this junkyard. Maybe I'm just unlucky and live near a crummy junkyard?

I've been trying to get one at junkyard prices, that is to say, cheap. I'm hoping to stumble into one at the junkyard, go have it checked out at a machine shop before the 30 day return limit, then store it for when I build my engine. If anything forces me to rebuild my engine I'll probably end up spending a few hundred buying one from somebody on the internet.

Obvoiusly nobody searched too hard. This link was in the 5th thread listed when searching 4g64.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Mitsubishi_engines

I searched for an hour, I found that page and if you'd have clicked the link for the 4G6x Sirius engines, you'd see that the 4G64 is not even listed, let alone a break-down of the models equipped with it. Wikipedia lists the 4G69, same bore/stroke, but that doesn't even help if it is the same bottom end -because finding a new MIVEC 2.4 in a junkyard is going to be even harder than a 4G64.

Thanks TealTalon, your post actually helped.
