If the wood druff key was never installed, I dont see how it would have started up the first time. Unless the belt tension was that good.

but here is some photo
With bolt and washer installed

Thank you for the pictures. I do have the woodruff key, but never the washer.

I'm going to pull the head this weekend and check for damage. At that point I will decide whether to pursue a new engine, head or chargeback from my credit card company. I'm still in a complete state of disbelief....

To answer your question, yes, paid through Paypal with a credit card. Not sure if Paypal will dispute this though. It's been 5 months since the purchase and Paypal dispute results are rarely satifactory.

Just a quick note on this, I got scammed over only $30 and I filed a report with paypal. Within less than a week the seller shipped me the item and it was dropped. Now obviously your dispute would be a lot more significant. It would at least let him know that you are serious about this and you want it to be made right.

Well, today I finally got a chance to inspect for damage and popped my valve cover. Judging by the fact that my intake cam spins freely 90 degrees and there is a 1/8 inch or greater gap between the cam and the rockers, it appears that I have at least 6 bent valves. I'm not even going to bother pulling the head. When I had talked to George last, he had stubornly agreed to take the head back. After thinking about it though, I cannot consiously put one of his motors in my car. After stating that he isn't responsible for things like this, who is to say that the he is also responsible for torquing the rod bolts or installing piston rings? Running a Karking engine is just not a risk that I am willing to take. Wish me luck in trying to get my money back from Karking!

You can EASILY call the credit card company and having NOTHING to do with KarKing. You have no reason to talk to "George" anymore. Call the CC company and simply explain that the engine you recieved was defective. They will take care of the rest and you should have your money in less than 10 days.

On a side note this kinda sucks, I ordered a 4g64 crank from them. Hope that stays together

I think our track record speaks for itself everyone has their opinion and their side of the story. I'm only posting of course in our defense towards this issue alot of people have bought 6bolts from us here at Kar King and we do no include the crank bolt nor washer but yes the woodruff key is on the crank and is installed. He says the bolt was on and thats his claim and i have a procedure and we do not include the bolt if his mechanic forgot to install it or installed it without the washer how could that be our responsibility? Now of course i had some kind of attitude when speaking to him and i apoligize for that but when we do our best here and have certain procedures in building our engines it's kind of fustrating when you get a call like this because it's totally out of my control again i apoligize for my attitude but i will not take the blame for someone elses mistakes....

now i did offer a free valve job if you sent me the head out of appreciation for buying the engine from us but if thats not good enough i'm sorry.

Thats funny, becuase you show it in your photos from you VERY OWN SITE!!!!

This sounds like complete idiocy, you put together the engine, advertise that you assembly the timing components. And then leave a bolt off. WHY THE H*LL WOULD YOU DO THAT!!

That's like a mechanic advertising that he does oil changes but does no to put the oil drain plug back in and says, "i have a procedure and we do not include the bolt" Do you not realize how stupid that sounds?!?

If you level of work ethics and intelligence is so low, then we can see that your track record is this way. The only thing I heard about you guys before this is that you are over priced.

If this is your defense, count me out of any future buisness. And count on me directing many of the DSMers in my area to this thread and away from you guys.

This part is important.... when I recieved the motor the bolt was on the block.

Why the hell would you guys adopt some new policy where you don't include the crank bolt but try to sell the motor as a complete longblock?

For example, your 2g 6 bolt swap page says this, "Engine is sold as pictured and will include everything mentioned all except for 6bolt flywheel and external oil cooler."

In looking at the pictures, I see the crank washer and bolt installed in 3 of them. I would think such a policy would be of enough concern to at least make an attempt to alert the consumer, especially if your descriptions are so misleading. Granted, this is not the exact engine he purchased, but I would assume that it would be similar considering it is basically a rebuilt 6 bolt.

"It is totally self explanatory after seeing the pictures how easy it is to install."

:toobad: Really?

I was considering buying a block from you guys a while back, but now I'm glad I spent my money elsewhere.

1. The picture shown above shows the crank bolt but no washer, much like OP's situation.

2. IMO, I'm surprised like everyone else that the crank bolt/washer is not included with a complete long block, but that is just my opinion.

3. This thread has gone on long enough and has now become a vendor review thread. Both sides have spoken and clearly stated their position and policy for readers to draw their own conclusion.
