You think though in a little while something wrong is going to happen??

What should i check and look for to prevent this from happening?

Hey there I noticed your post and I just wanted to tell you something. I currently purchased my 99 eclipse gsx from e-bay too! Things you need to check for are the things that the eyes or you as an online buyer will not see. Run a carfax check to it - make sure you activate the extended warranty after the deal is set. Ask him about the health of the transmission, engine, and brakes, also the fluids get a list of when they all changed them. And just remember the things the eyes cannot see is what you have too look out for. The dealer can say all the pretty stuff the car has but make sure they all work together and the general health of the car is good.

When I bought my gsx three weeks back, the dealer was very nice and civilized and got the car for about 10K w/ shipping, when the car got here I wasn't to impresed - It was very dirty had couple of minor scratches but the worst part was the transmission failed - and I had to do a rebuilt after 1 week of owning the vehicle, When I asked the dealer for some help he got all crazy on me about the money issues. So I just dropped that case and took out a loan to repair the vehicle. All I could do is leave him a bad rating, as for me I ended up spending around 2K for that tranny rebuild.

Hope that helps, and like the ^post said. Enjoy the car some of the best deals you could find are on ebay just gotta be meticulous about some matters.

Sorry I didn't see the part where you already have had the vehicle.

- Have the dealership inspect it for you all around / have them inspect the engine
- Go to tranny place and have the tranny checked
- Brakes/tires/suspension/ have a tire place check all that for you

*about the dealer part - since there are several mods on the vehicle already you could also try going to a auto-works store and have your engine checked out there to make sure there are no leaks/cracks/breaks/ in any section of the engine just to make sure.

- Make sure all the maintenance has been done also - all the fluids flushed and replaced - belts checked and lets see im just running this through my head thats it for now unless someone else has an idea.

Id say you got a good deal, all those mods installed would cost over 3 grand anyways. So even if your engine was to blow you still break even from all the nice mods it came with. Just take it easy and dont be afraid to rebuild the engine if need be! :thumb:
