tension on the power steering belt

anybody know the proper tension thats supposed to be on the power steering belt? i just shredded the hell outta one and i got the high squeel outta it all the time. i wanna put a belt on it but this time i wanna do it right time
 
i dont know how you could shred one unless the alignment was off....but i make my belts so the you can twist them about 90 degrees

If your shredding belts then most likely something is misaligned.
