temps senser bad?

Ok guys easy/dumb question. If my temp sensor was bad would it throw a code and would it make it have idle surge I did a resistance check on it while the car was cool and it read 1.5 k ohms so I dont know. Also would a bad o2 make the car idle surge I also have a broken flex pipe at down pipe (going to fix asap). Sorry I know dumb question but I'm feeling like I may be missing something. 1g dsm

Ok turns out i have a bad throttle closed switch I unplug it and the car runs perfect i plug it in and idle surge. Since you have to buy them with the tps if you can find them, If i decided to run with out it plugged in will it be ok to do that?

that would be the idle position switch, also called the idle stop switch. i had the same problem on mine

Ok so can I run with this unplugged or is that not a good idea?

that's what i did with mine and it runs fine. the only problem is the car doesn't know when its idling so you might have to adjust your idle if its to high/low
