Temp Guage

Hello everyone, have been searching with no luck, here is the problem that I am having, my temp guage stays in the middle, by this I mean, car is off and temp is in the middle, car starts and runs with no change. Fans are working properly, when the car senses it needs for the fans to come on they do. Thanks for your help in advance...

sounds like your gauge is either just stuck or just pooped out on ya. unless maybe the temperature sender deal went bad... but i would think that if it was bad your gauge wouldn't read anything.

well, I have owend the car for about 2 months, in those 2 months that I can remember the guage has gone down when the car is off 2 times, at some point one of the previus owners put those indigo guages on the car, maybe its getting stock because of that? I dont like the indigo guages so I might take them off and inspect the guage it self.

yeah... i'd pull em out, put stock ones in or whatever, and see what it does. if nothin else, i'd replace the sending unit.

then this might be a dumb question but i dont know the answer, where is the sending unit?

You can try unplugging the thermostat sensor and plugging it back in, maybe clean it up a bit. It's located on the left side of the engine above the intake pipe and below the rad cap.

Hey, just took off all the indogo guage crap and the temp guage is working properly now, but when i put everything back and now the oil pressure is a bit higher, as in when you turn everything off the needle is about an 1/8 up, not all the way down, so now I have to take it apart and take a look to see what i did wrong when I put it back in. So progress for now .

yay! i don't get the oil pressure gauge. the one on the GST went completely out. and we just haven't bothered with a new gauge yet maybe i'll do that whilst in the process of redoing this car... hmm...

well mine somewhat works, it moves, but its sitting when the car is off about an 1/8 so I will take a look tomorow and see.
