I got hooked my car up to the scanner yesterday and it said my intake temp was about 95 to 100 degrees when the car is at a stand still. It was about 60 degrees yesterday. when i was driving it down the road the temp dropped to about 75 but as soon as i let off it jumped back up to around 95 to 100. should i try cleaning the MAF or what else could it be.

It's going to be hotter when you are sitting still because you aren't getting that moving air and the heat from the engine bay is heating up your filter and intake pipes. I don't see how cleaning the MAF will help what you are describing.

Thats what the mechanic said i should do because my car when i have the pedal to the floor i get a drop in power. I can accelerate faster when i got it at about 3/4 throttle.

and because the intake temp is taken by the MAF

The stock IAT is in the MAF. That sits behind the headlight. So intake temps from there is not going to be seen by the engine, since there is an IC between that sensor and the intake mani.

If you want a true reading, get a GM IAT and either install it in the intake mani or on the elbow off the tb.

Back when it was around 65*-70* out, my intake temp(amf) was around ~78*- ~110*, but the air going into the intake mani (GM IAT) was ~80*- ~90*.
