okay, the deal is..
i have of course a stock oil guage,
and a aftermarket, autometer sport comp.
while the car is: off/running/wot whatever
both my oil guages read max pressure.
also, located near the oil filter housing,
theres two wires thats disconnected.
theres a yellow wire with a tiny red stripe.
and a soild green wire i think?
anyone knows what these go too?
thanks!

oh yeah,
i have a new sending unit. i cant remember if it was for the guage or the light?
i know it was the cheaper of the two.

I believe the yellow single wire connector goes to the oil pressure switch, the green wire connector plugs into the yellow.

More information on the car and what else is done to it would help.

It seems that your gauges are not getting any readings at all and those wires may be playing a role in that. Are you sure you installed this Auto-Meter gauge correctly? If you're not sure if you hooked your Aut-Meter guage up not check this out.

Also take note of the wires, the yellow is running to the dummy sensor on the front of the OFH and the green to the factory oil pressure sending unit.

Keep in mind I am guessing this is on a 2g and that you dont have a mess of wires in the OFH are that are hanging free. One of the wires on your factory wiring harness, in this case yellow or green, should go to the factory oil pressure sending unit, and the other to the small sensor on the front of the OFH. Yours may be different though as your profile says you have a 1g. Be careful with these connections, if the factory connectors are no good they can be tricky to keep connected. I always snag those clips every time I see a DSM at the junkyard.

These should help you out some too.

Oil Temp + Oil Pressure pickup - 4GTuner

One last thing to keep in mind, it I personally do not think it is necessary to have both at stock and aftermarket oil pressure gauge hooked up, it's just extra wiring you don't need.

hey i have a 2g.
thanks for the replies guys,
so the yellow wire with the red strip plugs into the oil sending unit?
and the green connects to that plug in switch thing??
and i can get pictures.

but, my aftermarket oil guage is tapped right into the housing, and it still reads max pressure even while car is off.
same as the stocker.

also, its not a green wire.
its a blue wire with yellow strip.
and yellow wire with red strip.

im sure its a wiring problem.
