Temp gauge problems fluctuating.

Sorry for another post but this problem has reared its head the last few weeks. When idling my temp gauge will go up to the normal spot and stay there and the fans cycle. After driving, especially on cool days, the temp gauge will fall and will not come back up at speed. Come to a stop and it will gradually warm back up and the fans will kick on again at the usual spot.

Any ideas. I was the the temp sensor could be bad.

Could be your thermostat is stuck open (bad), have you checked it yet?

How long does it take to get to normal temperature when started from cold. It should come up fairly quickly. If it does not then most likely the thermostat is stuck open.
