TD05H on a 91 GSX

ok so i picked up this TG05H turbo that i believe to be a 16G? it say 16 on it.? i have it almost put back together. but i need a cuple things. i dont know what i should get, I need (oil feed line, water feed lines and bolts) my stock lines are too small and so are the bolts. i found some on ebay but im not sure if they will work. also need that flange that goes between the manifold and the turbo.

Does the turbo say turbocharger on a flat plate?

A 91 gsx 5 speed will allready have a td05h 14b on it.

TDO5H is the size of the turbo body ... look at the body and you should see a series of numbers.

This is what tells us what model of turbo it is.

Mine is a TDO5H 49178-01450 = EVO I B16G since my motor is a JDM VR4 GALANT 4G63 motor

The G wheels are very nice and worth the upgrade. Here is a Tdo4 but upgraded to 15g.

If your car had a 14b, like it should stock (unless you own an auto), then all your stock hardware should work. From the sounds of it, you bought a knock off. I was unable to find anything regarding a "TG05H" turbo (literally google it, and this thread is one of 2 results haha) snap some pics, we could help identify it.

Also, what flange are you speaking of? Do you have a T3 manifold or something that has a different bolt pattern? A TD05H variant should bolt up to a stock (1G or 2G) manifold, should be no need for an additional flange.

thanks guys. sorry i forgot to say that mine is auto.
the piece that im talkin about is a metal ring that goes between the turbo and the manifold, not a gasket. not really sure whats is called.
i really want to get this thing going. i thought it was gonna be a direct swap but turned out that i need those water and oil lines. i believe the turbo came out of a first gen 5 speed. so when i search for parts should just look for a gsx manual trans, insted of a auto. since the manuals come with a bigger turbo?

If your car is auto..Going to a tdo5 turbo you will need oil feed, and coolant lines..Oil drain is the same.

Is the auto turbo shot..Pm me if you want to off the 13g.

I have answered this question twice just today abot the lines..No about the searching for 5 speed parts..Most people forget there are even 1g auto's..So 75% or more posts and parts out there are from a 5 speed.

All you need is the oil feed and coolant lines..That's easy enough to find.Pm me if you need any help..

i think im going to hold onto the car for a while. it has 129,000 miles.
i have a 4th gen too, i love mitsubishi. every year there the mod (mitsubishi oweners day) meet in normal IL. any of you guys have them around where you live?
and for the turbo im not sure how much its even worth.?

Id stay away from those kits and find some OEM lines. Easy to install and aren't hit or miss on quality and fitment.

Yeah dont order from ebay for these parts since they are so important. When I replaced mine I ordered from buschur racing a little pricey but fit right.

I doubt i'll make it.

I like Xpsi, and stm for my parts..Or stock lines from the classifieds.

ok i installed everything i needed for the GSX. took it for a drive. ran fine for about 5 min. then smoke was every where...! oil dripping out of the muffler. i think the seal was out. good thing the guy said i could get my money back/ 40bucks. for that, should i just keep it? rebuild?? or sell it and upgrade to a 16g. i found an evo3 16g turbo with tubular manifold for 400.. is that a good price, ?thanks you guys. would be lost with out ya

Where did you find an evo3 turbo with manifold for 400 bux..I would hate to see you getting ripped a new one again.

Ya thats what im thinking. Found one forsale for 275. But i have to drive 6 hrs around trip. He was askin 350. But i talked him down. so this sunday im planning on buying this. What should I be looking for when go to get this. He said its a super 16g ported and polished. And has only had bout 5hrs on the thing. No shaft play what so ever. Everything sounds legit to me.

Ya once i get this new turbo in. Im going to get my money back. The guy already told me if it doesnt work. You can have your money back...i got a ecu for a gsx if any one needs one. I bought it for 75. I pluged it into my gsx auto and it wouldnt start. Uce came out of a manual gsx. Would that be why it doesnt work?

Caps probably leaked all over causing board damage(like this http://simon.chi.il.us/ECU/MD193299Damaged.jpg).Causing a no start.Most commonly it cranks but won't start.
