TD04 turbo combinations

I have a Mitsu RVR 4g63 in my 2g and it came with the baby TD04HL on it. I wanna try and increase max flow for cheap by combining it with other MHI turbos parts.

I was wondering if it would be possible to replace the compressor wheel and housing with a TD05 16g? I have a TD05 16G compressor wheel but I wanted to see if anyone had any info before I started tearing my turbo off and apart.

P.S. I have a 18G and compared the two turbos and the only real difference from looking at it seem to be the compressor sides of the turbos which leads me to believe they might work but of course, it's kind of hard to tell because my turbo is still mounted on my engine.

Edit: Hmm kind of talking to myself here but after some research I believe 13G, 15G, 16T, 18T and 19T parts will all mate on my turbo for swapping and upgrading.

Can anyone confirm this?

try it out see if it will spin in the larger housing if so it should work. Also measure the wheel and housings if there close the differences may just be in housing width and not the wheel itself. Witch is very possible considering there not to far off from each other. I think the WRX tdo4 turbo may get you somewhere nice. My friend has a 3000gt with td04's and he did something like that and from what he said it helped a lot on the top end. not sure if he used the CHRA or what not though..

You need to work on the turbine side to see any gains, mainly the turbine housing. Pull off your exhaust manifold and you'll see how TINY the outlet of the exhaust mani and the inlet of the turbine housing are. It's scary to think of all the backpressure they have to be causing.
