Tapping Egt in o2 housing

i read it's supposed to be 6" from the first cylinder but does it really matter ? is it ok to tap it in the o2 housing to avoid the probe damaging your turbo if something bad happens ?

Yes, actually if it's an Autometer guage the instructions tell you to put it after the O2 housing. You're not looking for so much a high reading as you are a constant reading.

I'm going to say yes it's ok to do so but I think you should use the collector area in the manifold.

here's the options

bend the tip so i can tap it 6 " from the 1st cyl.

tap in collector

tap in o2 housing

dont tap the collector, dont tap the o2 housing.

Jim thinks it's best in the O2, after the turbine. It makes sense.
