Talking downpipes?

So... Long story short, I got a ticket today for my exhaust among many other things (8 tickets total, car impounded) My exhaust was very leaky, very loud from that. So I'm starting fresh with it, new downpipe and catback.

I'm going with the SRS catback from ebay, 250 shipped to the door, good fitment reports, im sold. I had it on my subie and loved it.

So for downpipes I'm looking at either the CX Racing one from dsmgraveyard or the punishment racing one. Very minimal cost difference, is there one that the DSM community prefers?

I have a 95 Talon TSi FWD. Got a 6 bolt swap.

a lot of people probably run APEX'i N1. just go with ebay. no sense in spending a lot of money for a piece of pipe.

Not to mention the Apexi N1 rusts even in states where it doesnt even snow.

i have an ebay 3 in. cat back exhaust on my spyder, and it sounds great. i never have understood why people drop like almost $1k for an exhaust.

I've heard a lot about rust and the N1 but one of my best friends has a 3" N1 catback on his 1G but we just went and checked it out and there's no rust from what we can tell? where do they typically rust at?

im actually kinda curious also about where the rust starts on and apexi n1 cause i have an megan downpipe and an apexi n1 catback and i cant remember ever seeing rust along the piping

Well I just put my Megan dp on and the was pretty dissapointed. Flex pipe hits oil pan. My no name ebay down pipe fit great on my old 1g though.

I have the punishment racing downpipe on my car and this is a little secret... Its an ebay downpipe. Looks exactly like it and i even had problems with it like i expected from an ebay product. Please save yourself the money and look on ebay. ive found the exact same downpipe i got for 130$ for 70$ on ebay.

I agree i never understood why people spend so much money on a piece of steel piping. I have full ebay exhaust and i absolutely love it. besides my fitmit issues haha
