wasnt sure where to put this so i decided to put it here.

my transmission went out a couple weeks ago and somehow the people at they tranny shop figured out that i race the car. i talked to the guy who owns it or something and he said that the only people who should be 'modifying and racing these cars are the people who have 20-30k in the bank.' he also mentioned the fast and the furious. i was thinking umm yeah ok thats why theres over 25,000 people on this forum who talk about, plan, and modify DSMs who are in high school, college, etc. i just acted like i agreed with him because i didnt want to talk to him. he said 'if i wanted to make a racecar to buy a 79 camaro with a 350.' i almost told him about john shepherd (sp?) but again i didnt want to talk to him. he said our cars cant take 'abuse' and by that i guess he meant racing. oh well...

got my car back, and i couldnt be more happy to get it out of that place!
the guy said that aftermarket air filters make cars run bad, ive never heard that. when we left i noticed the BOV sounded strange then i noticed it wasnt boosting. so i pulled over and noticed that the hose on the back/top of the BOV wasnt hooked up. so i took it back, and the guy was like 'well he wouldnt have noticed that there wasnt any boost unless he was going fast. my dad said that i was right in front of him and wasnt going fast, and he was like 'oh.' then we opened the hood and he was like 'looks fine to me' then we pointed out the missing hose and he called his mechanics over. then he told them that and i quote 'one of the hoses hooked up to the boost' yes he called the BOV 'the boost.' after half of his mechanics came over they finally found it and he was like 'oh he must have put it there so he could find it later.' i guess thats why he didnt hook it up again. i could have done that myself but i had just payed $2000 for them to fix my transmission and my dad made me. oh yeah the guy touched the turbo and was surprised that it was hot.
dont think ill be going back there.... ever.

i have a question though.... why would they unhook that hose to get to the transmission?

Hah! I got a good story about that. My wife went to pick up her Eclipse for the d*ckhead who sold it to us. She called me and told me that the engine bay way making a high-pitched squeel. The seller told her to say whistle. She says, sounds like whistling. I told my wife "oh thats normal, thats the turbo" The seller then talked to me on the phone, and told me it was the sound of the turbo spool-up. I was like "yay! I know what it is"
When I drove the car, I heard what my wife was talking about, it was NOT spool up, it was the sound of a compressor CHEWING its way into the compressor housing.

I bet LOTS of yummy bits of shavings has found its way into my engine.
F*cking a*s-hole

What do you mean?!? like with a hammer? My tranny holds up fine. You just gotta know how to treat it.

E.I.
-6000 RPM launchs at every red light/stop sign, not good
-waiting till the the rev limit bounces your engine to shift, not good
-testing out the clutchless shift theory and you suck at it, not good
-down shiftin from 4th gear to 1st gear to catch that Italian Exotic, not good
-Seeing if you can do the 2F2F reverse 180 and sticking back into 1st, not goo
-playing the "guess what gear I'm in" game..... not good.
-going from Redlined 1st gear to Reverse gear to stop your car.... REALLY NOT GOOD!

-6000 RPM launches saved for stack time ONLY, ok
-granny shifting, instead of double clutching like you should have been, good
-Shifting at 2500RPM, good
-Smooth transtions of clutch and gas during shifts, good
-Waving at the ferrari that flys by, good
-Reversing only to get out of parking spots, good
-knowing what gear you are in, good
-Stopping from 1st gear at 2000 RPM'S by slowly pushing in the brakes and clutch and putting the car in neutral, GOOD!

x628x, They unhooked the signal line to the bypass valve because its much easier to get at the upper bolts that hold the transmission to the block with the upper ic pipe off.
As for the rest of the story, I can't even imagine what Hill Billy Bob's Phillip's 66 and Transmission repair shop must of looked like!
