Guys,

i need serious and urgent help here, my RPM Meter in gauge cluster has stopped working all of a sudden. it use to work perfectly fine. Therefore i identify the issue i checked the engine bay wiring which was ok and then i connected my DSM link to see if my ECU is seeing the RPM or not. and DSM link waS seeing RPM which means that the RPM signal from the ignitor is going into the ECU, thats why ECU can see it (Right? correct me if i'm wrong). BTW the lights (ECU check light, oil switch light and battery light in the cluster are working fine)

Checked the wires but still couldnt get the problem sorted out. i need to make this gauge working by tomorrow evening as i'm supposed to have a few races.

i will really appreaciate quick help. i'm not sure if there is a FUSE for RPM or what to check now. The motor is a 1g vr4-rs in a 90 colt.

The ECU RPM signal comes from the CAS. The tachometer signal comes from the power transistor on the 91+ ignitions or the tach gate on the coil bracket on -90 ignitions. Since your using the earlier ignition it will be from the tach gate on the coil pack and go to the noise filter on the intake manifold stay before going to the tach and ECU.

True! i have a filter kind of a thing connected to the coil pack (one wire coming in from coil pack to this filter) and two wire goes out.

i will give this connection a check.
thanks :)
