I recently put a motor from a 92 talon tsi into a 1990 talon tsi (has a 5 speed tranny) but for some reason my tach doesnt work. Everything else does but my tach doesnt move, is there something i didnt hook up or something??

What ECU do you have... it must be from a 91+ car 90 ecu's won't work without switching a wire on the ecu

i have the 92 motor in the 90 car. I switched the coil pack, transistor pack, tb, cas, and a few other misc. items. I thought if you put a 91+ motor and ecu into a 90 car the tach wont work. I didnt replace the ecu so it is the stock 90 eprom. Anyone know what would make it not work? I thought the cas or transistor pack made the tach work.

the 90' has to have a tach filter on the ignition coil pack for the tach to work, do a search and i'm sure you will come up with some juicy info. ;)
