First off I just want to say how great this site is. Just about every question i had was answered by doing a quick search. This is just a great bunch of people.
I just got a 99 gst with a bad turbo. I have a good PTE 5031E, (T3 flange) and a 35mm Tial wastegate left over from an old project, that I want to use on the gst. I dont want to spend the money on a cast T3 manifold. So my question is there anyone that makes a thick adapter plate that goes to a T3 flange and also has a port in the side for a external wastegate.
Thanks Adam

Ams sells an adapter plate to mate mitsu to t3 that has made over 600whp. There are some on ebay as well. You could have a flange welded on your manifold and run the gate off of there if you dont want a manifold.

Yeah I have seen those adapter plates on ebay but they are only 1/2" thick. I was wondering if someone made a thicker one like 2" thick. Then the gate could be mounted on the side of the adapter plate. Welding on castiron can be very tricky, I tried it one time, and it didnt workout to well.

They sell this but i dont think youre going to fit your turbo, as it will misalign exhaust, oil lines, and will probably hit motor mount. For the price you could take it and have the manifold professionally welded:thumb:

That is what i was looking for but that has a T3 flange on both side of the adapter plate.
It seems like I will have to pay somebody to weld me a flange on my manifold, or just make my own adapter plate. I come from old turbo dodge's so Im cheap!!:D

Doing it the way the O.P.'s thinking would be an absolute hack job. It sounds like he's asking if they make an adapter like this one to bolt a T3 turbo to a Mitsu manifold with a wastegate flange in between:

There is a company out there that builds these adapters, but they don't weld a wastegate flange on....they let that choice up to the buyer:

By the time you buy the adapter, do all the work to fab up a wastegate flange, and find a way to keep the wastegate from hitting your power steering pump you might as well buy a Turbonetics cast manifold and run it. The whole setup would look cleaner, have less possible spots for an exhaust leak, and keep your downpipe from dragging on the ground.

Do you know the company name or have a website for that adapter plate. I know I should just get the turbonetics manifold, but i always take the cheap road, and then end kicking myself in the A later.:ohdamn:

Who makes that? pretty nice even though most dont have a use for it on dsm
To be cheap you could get the manifold welded and get ams adapter
The cast t3 manifolds on ebay are the same as turbonetics and are $200 and have wastegate flange on them

stay away form the turbonetics manifold I had to grind on my engine mount alot to hook up my oil return line and I can't shut my hood with the waste gate on but it might be different for a 2gen

also the ebay manifolds like to crack from what I was told and I bought a new turbonetics manifold for less then you can get them on ebay

If you think this is going to be the cheap road, you may be mistaken. This isn't some eBay special adapter- I'd imagine by the time you buy the adapter and fab up the wastegate flange you'll spend almost as much as a Turbonetics manifold and have way more time involved.

Now that I got the lowdown on the adapter itself, it's actually for a CT26 turbo to allow you to use a T3-flanged replacement. I'm not sure if the CT26 has the same turbine inlet flange as a MHI turbo or not:

CT-26 to T3 Manifold Adapter

That has nothing to do with the manifold. Even DSM Bolt-On T3 Hybrids require front motor mount modification on 1G's.

In fact, if you don't have to modify your motor mount with one of these turbos, your oil return is plumbed improperly and will not allow for proper drainage.
