okay so i have read the other couple threads on people talking about if they should external gate their 16g or not. That isnt my questions though, what i am wondering is what size gate do you think i should get if i plan on running like 19psi on a DD car on the evo 3 16g turbo? i was thinking a 38mm with like a 1bar spring or somthing like that? any info would be great! thanks.

Heres a good article about what a wastegate is and how it functions so you can better understand how to choose your own http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-intake-exhaust/195477-wastegates-how-they-work-different-wastegate-options.html

The rule of thumb is:
The lower boost you run, the bigger WG you'll need.Seen guys run 30+PSI on 20G with interrnal and no problem, but when you go back to 18-20PSI level, it creeps.
You'd be better off, getting Tial-44 and call it a day.

It fits numerous manifolds and turbine housings and the v-band flange is just phenomenal.

I have my evo 16g externally gated on the o2 housing. Works excellent anywhere from 12-20+psi. I'm using a Tial 38mm with a 12psi spring. I use a Hallman Pro RX mbc.

GREAT info everyone. thanks! Im pretty sure im going to external gate it with a 38mm Tial on the 02 housing, which was my original plan. Just wanted some extra advice to be safe! thanks again!
